Since 2012 I’ve been traveling through various islands of the Philippines as a full-time Expat and spent 1999 living in Vietnam.

Share with me my ongoing adventures of life in the Philippines. Hopefully you find my observations helpful in your own adventures.

  2. We have more folks from California moving to Texas. Checkout the Filipino restaurants. We have a lot in Houston. Welcome to Texas. Texas is a family state.

  3. You say you bought in partnership with others, hope that works out, and you do not encounter any problems.

  4. The problem with us Californians, especially from the bigger cities, is that we’re always rushing.. we always have something better to do and don’t have time to converse or give quality time. I admit I’m that way. I work in the medical field, I’m constantly working 10-12hrs, so I’m always rushing. But that’s what I enjoy about the Philippines, everyone there takes their time, no one rushes you, and you get to enjoy the beauty that country has to offer.

  5. Welcome to Texas! I moved from socal to Texas in 2018. Now here in Philippines with my wife.

  6. Do you still do private consultations? If so let me know how to best get in touch with you. This would be a consultation about the Philippines.

  7. big houses there, did you buy a mansion and why? to establish residence? just use a family address since you claimed you have family there,,,,my opinion

  8. I had the chance to visit Houston a few years ago (long story). I really liked it.

  9. I can’t wait to leave California, I have to wait for another 19 months until I retire, I’m already looking at land in Texas too, more north in the DFW area closer to the grandkids!

  10. Wow this was so cool watching you walk down the streets in my old stomping grounds I’ve walked those very same streets even sat in the very spot you’re sitting by the water’s edge that’s just wild I could divulge more but I won’t anyway thanks for the trip down memory lane love the channel take care be safe

  11. You need to add one thing to add on that list. That is you need to be “baptisized” in the Trinity River near Huntsville at the Sam Houaton Shrine But it is done once a year.

  12. Reekay.. I stayed at that same Sheraton Hotel near LAX and it is a labyrinth of an hotel the way they designed it.. I had the same problem you did in finding my room..

  13. A long time subscriber here. Welcome to my home state. We used to to say, ‘There is Texas, then there is the 49 foreign states. I’ll be heading back to the Philippines soon also.

  14. South Dakota would be a decent choice too no? Residency consideration after only 24 hours, no state income tax, and no need for a traditional home. Or maybe I’m mistaken

  15. Came out here to TX last year as well and did the same. I transferred residency from CA to here. Hope to meet you again some day in the Philippines.

  16. I would love to hear more about your experiences with Texas if you have more info. I recently moved to Vegas also in part to escape state taxes and overall I like it but would consider Texas as well. Vegas has many things going for it but friendly people isn’t one of them!

  17. Smart move Reekay, your on top of it. As well last month when I was back in Cali I did the exact same thing you did. I now have my permanent residence in Nevada. Another tax free state. One of the best things I’ve done, wish I’d done this prior to relocating in the Philippines. Good luck, take care!

  18. Good video! This is precisely why I live in Florida. I was in idaho and taxes were horrid…I hope your doing well my friend.
