2. Lived in the Philippines for nearly 3 years and loved it until my filipina girlfriend and I were in a 7.1 earthquake while on the 11th floor of our condo in Cebu City and the whole building began swaying back and forth and our walls started to crack! A month earlier we went through one of the strongest typhoons in recorded history. The poor expat on the 22nd floor died of a heart attack during that earthquake. His floor must have been swaying like crazy being that high up. November 2013 was a horrible year with tphoon Yolanda/Haiyan and that earthquake.

3. No kids, no ex……..i’m almost ready for my next adventure at 57 yrs old!

4. So true about kids turning into adults(18+) and having their own lives. Best to make plans for that to avoid being lonely. They can still call you and ask for money while you are in the Philippines.
