1. I saw a story On National Geographic about this . A guy from UK was dating a Filipina got her pregnant thy had a baby and the EX husband found out had them arrested and wanted $10,000 to drop charges and the ex had more rights to the baby than the father then the cop offered to kill ex husband for $5,000 it was crazy thy wound up bribing a philippine official $10,000 to get them both out of the country Crazy

2. Without a photo id like a passport a cenomar is useless it could be a fake identity or a forgery but good information as usual

3. As far as I know the Philippines and the Vatican are the 2 countries that don’t allow divorce. Ridiculous. There is a bill going around to make divorce legal in the PH. I have no idea what the status of the bill is. Abandonment is a huge problem in PH.

5. This is a common thing here. If they have kids they probably got married at the hospital there are other ways it is who you know in the Philippines

6. I have a question for you. This will start a big argument. What happens if an American gets married here in the Philippines then takes his Filipina wife to the US. then after 10 years gets a divorce in the US. He is legally divorced in the US can he come back and get married again here.

7. Sound advice. My asawa began living w/me & within a week I did the cenomar as she has 2 kids. We lived together 21 months prior to marriage & all is good. If someone lied to me about marital status at the onset I knew I could never trust them.

9. The harsh reality is the filipina is MARRIED and even if she and her husband agreed to separate go their own ways and he doesn’t care if she has another partner, if anyone reports you then you’ll have problems.
   I believe the jail sentence for a filipina for ‘adultery is up to 4 years imprisonment and for her male partner 2 to 6 years.

   A valid defence is to have proof you asked if she has been married and she said no. Best course of action is to ask her to provide a CENEMAR think it costs 3 or 400 pesos.
   To be 100% certain check the name on the Cenemar with her ID because one lawyer interviewed said some filipinas have applied in the name of a female relative with a similar name.
   She also said the Philipine Legal System favours those who go to court “with clean hands.”
   So if you get caught up in a situation where you are accused of adultery it will help if you show you took reasonable steps to check your partner’s status.
