This is an easy problem to avoid. Just never, NEVER, send money to any person or woman in the PH or elsewhere whom you have never met or seen. You cannot get scammed if you don’t give them what they are asking for.
And even if you have met them, if they start up with the same stories about grandma’s meds, mom’s surgery, the typhoon that blew off the roof, or – my favorite scam story – being hit by a motorbike and needing surgery for a broken leg, you must be willing to say “No.”
