About Me.. In 2011 I made the decision to move to the Philippines within a year. Since 2012 I’ve been traveling through various islands of the Philippines as a full-time Expat. (Mactan, Bohol, Panglao, Moalboal, Dumaguete, Bacong, Boracay, Cebu) I recently spent the year living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Share with me here my ongoing adventures of life in the Philippines. Dating, vlogging, cooking, traveling and sharing the information with you needed to make your own plans for living as a full-time expat in Southeast Asia.

  1. Belated Happy Birthday! My wife is from Camotes. Will get in touch when I am back in town. Best regards, Toby

  2. Happy birthday Reekay, wishing you all the best in life you could wish for. Thank you for taking the time to share your life with us. You have enlightened so many people (myself included). Enjoy….

  3. I’m all ears as I view this video, yet, my eyes just can’t seem to focus on you, this time. Why is that?

Cardinal rule #?, Henry; Never allow your pretty, young girlfriend to appear on any of your videos, without a bag over her head, because sharks will smell blood & begin to circle! In fact, move far away from where there are any other foreign guys – especially those young techie guys – perhaps, even ANY guys, before it’s too late!

Now that I’ve induced insecurity, possibly paranoia, within your mind; Happy Birthday!

PS: Uhm, listen if things don’t work out… lol!

  4. Reekay what happened?
    One week I was reading
    about how great vietnam
    Was going food, women,
Country, culture, and all of a sudden ur back in the Philippines in the Cebu area……what happened.

    1. why do you ask, ‘what happened’? vietnam is still amazing, and i plan to return at some point. i met someone in davao and decided to spend time with her in the ph. why is that confusing for you?

    1. i love vietnam. and plan to return at some point. i’m spending time in-person with my g/f so we can build our relationship.

  5. Nice girl, Reekay. And you can’t beat that view of Cebu from the high rise terrace. Cebu is a fairly green city as you look out towards Marco Polo. Nice.

  6. Interesting isn’t it? On our birthdays we tend to be reflective and be grateful for all the good things that have happened in our lives. Also that number we turn does give us a signal to make new plans for the future. Nice video Henry. Good to see life has been good to you.

  7. Belated Happy Birthday Reekay, good to see you both looking so happy in Cebu. It’s my birthday week also and I was at Ayala Mall the same day as you guys. Would loved to meet you both and say hi. Unfortunately I don’t have fb. Enjoy your stay here, and best wishes to you and your beautiful girl, you don’t look your age.

  8. Reekay, I’m in Cebu now for 3 months.
We’ve chatted a few times. Would like to meet up if you have opportunity.

  9. She is a gem, Reekay! Congrats, friend! Yes, Ayala is our favorite, as well! Will be there soon with Bing!

  10. Happy Birthday! Thanks for all of your videos about the Philippines and Vietnam. You are inspiring me to travel more.

    1. her parents actually advised her and her sister, life would provide greater opportunities if they chose a life without children.

her sister is married and living in the province still. but vi (my g/f) is happy being with me knowing that children are not part of our future.

  11. I left the Philippines on February 8 due to the corona-virus scare. Now I feel fortunate for not having luck with the ladies. No survivors guilt for leaving someone special. If you are an expat still living in the Philippines better take a hard look at the coming storm.

    1. china is an obvious hotspot. but currently one’s chances are about the same in the ph as most any other country.

  12. open question: those chairs at the O:55 mark, can anyone just occupy them or are they for customers only ??? Thanx in advance

    1. those (and other chairs/tables) on the outer terraces are for customers of the nearest resto. the open-seating, below, where the paths and fountains are, those are available to the public.

  13. I just got back from my annual month in P.I. and managed to not get pregnant or married, but since I avoid bars and red light districts and dating sites my profile is diminished greatly

    1. Me just turned 56
4 more to get philippines senior id and 6 more to get social security from usa ! And im finally free

  14. Laste congratulations with your birthday! While age is just a number, I think it’s still good to celebrate surviving another year – as it’s not a given 🙂

  15. Belated Happy Birthday!!! Same here.. dinner with friends and loved ones is more than enough to enjoy my birthday.

  16. Happy Birthday! Where were you staying? Looks like a nice spot for a stay. Enjoy life, that is the only way to live. All the best to you and yours.

  17. I really enjoyed seeing the Ayala Mall at close range and the view of Cebu City as have in-law relatives who live there. With the travel ban in place for anyone coming from China, Macau and Hong Kong, I suppose tourist numbers would be down there at the moment. My wife worked in Cebu City in the 80s on the port development. She says Cebu City has changed a lot since then.

  18. Wow..Back in the Philippines…and Ayala Mall no less….and a Filipina companion to keep us forever young. Good bless us one and all.

    1. i met Vi during my visa-run, back in september, so i decided to come to the ph so we can build a relationship in-person. i’m not into LDR. but we plan to go to vietnam together next year.

  19. Happy belated bday. I would choose vikings buffet , because there is no chance that someone doesnt like the food. Because there is so much choice/ variety for everyone.

  20. Hi Reekay! Are you a Mexican American? I can’t figure you out buddy? I’m puzzled, lol. Great videos btw, I would like to go to the Philippines one day, whenever I save up enough money, lol.

  21. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Reekay. I have been watching your videos all the way back to the time when you were making VHS tapes about meeting girls in the Philippines. Met mine 20 years ago and couldn’t be happier. All the best to you my friend.

  22. Absolutely love that mall! Nice to go out in the courtyard and just relax or enjoy a great meal with family. We will be back in Cebu in June if the virus travel restrictions don’t put a damper on our trip. Thanks for the great video.

    1. Happy Birthday! The last time I read your blog was when you were in Dumaguete then moved to Vietnam and now you are back and in Cebu and with your pinay gf. Good for you guys. You look happy.
