2. When traveling on airplanes, always wear a disposable surgical face mask, disposable latex gloves and wrap around glasses, all sold on Amazon.

   1. @Tashi Chodak The best thing a mask does is keep you from involuntarily touching your mouth and nose. I believe the CDC suggests the N95 masks so I’ll go with that over a reddit comment.

   2. Dude, I’ve traveled all over the world and at no time have I worn such protection and I have not contacted anything. If public health concerns are magnified don’t travel. You should use universal protection all the time when in public, wash and re-wash hands which is the most popular vehicle for contamination. Take sanitizer with you. People would be more likely to get sick from touching a door, or faucet, shopping cart etc. There is no science that a disposable face mask is beneficial for stopping anything other then particulates.

3. Thursday I have to fly from Manila to Bangkok layover, then to Tokyo layover 7 hours then to USA….

   I am a bit concerned as by this weeks end there will be more widespread cases across these Asian countries to be sure.

   1. They eat all kinds of exotic animals, thinking they are good for various things like libido. They pay no attention to hygiene when handling the meat, and many ignorant people from the rural areas have no clue about what ‘germs’ and ‘viruses’ are. They still believe in ancient Chinese medicine aka magic.

7. Winston Sterzel, also known by his YouTube pseudonym SerpentZA, is a South African vlogger, and video producer. For the last 10 or so years, he has lived in China and produced videos about Chinese history, government, culture, food, etc. in an attempt to let westerners understand more about China and explain to them why Chinese culture is the way it is. His “day job” for much of that time was teaching Chinese Doctors English and Western medical standards, practices and procedures. He is also married to a Chinese Doctor. Although they recently moved to the US, he and his wife have maintained contact with many Doctors in China and they have been following this outbreak since before it became world news. His latest video is a report of all the things he’s learned about this outbreak talking to Doctors (“boots on the ground”) in China. It’s an eye opener to say the least. Just thought that you and your viewers might be interested.

   disclaimer: I do not know Mr. Sterzel or anyone associated with him or his channel. I’m not running around posting this all over. I’ve followed Henry since his days blogging and have enjoyed his work because I find it very accurate, well thought out and well presented. He knows what he’s talking about. I’ve watched many of the videos on SerpentZA for the last couple of years because I find them to be the same.

8. When my girlfriend was 28, no travel agent in Manila would sell her a ticket unless she got a clearance document from the gov. She had to go to a gov office have an interview, and come back for a class and then another interview, pay a fee and was given the clearance paper. This was for a 4 day trip to Hong Kong,.The Philippine gov said that they had to protect their women as many have been abused in many countries.

9. The more people have looked at it is we are much more likely to run out of people as most countries are shrinking in population. China is shrinking in population now and is ageing they are actually trying to increase the birth rate. The whole view that we will have too many people in the next 20 are just wrong the evidence seems to show its actually about to start going in the opposite direction

    1. My thought is stay close to home for the next two or three weeks and see if the virus migrates to the Philippines i.e. Manila/Cebu . It’s better to recuperate at home.

It appears most of them are from China, so you may want to multiply those by 10 to 100 times. But the rate of infection and the Death to Recovery rate is very alarming.

18. I can recommend using a N95 or better (N99) mask, non latex gloves and wrap around safety glasses when traveling in Asia for the foreseeable future.Your eye’s are also a portal to infection. Wash hands ofter, alcohol kills bacteria not a virus.

    December 8th – first case was reported

    December 30th – the doctors arrive to see for themselves

    Jan 1st – the police arrest 8 people for talking about the virus

    Jan 11th – the first death from the virus is confirmed

    Jan 14th – some media outlets have reporters arrested for reporting about virus

    Jan 18th – a big banquet is held for 100,000 people in a village in Wuhan to prove no virus exists, everyone eats from same plates and wear no masks, on the same day the media reports that the virus is not dangerous

    Jan 21st – new year celebrations go ahead regardless of virus, thus spreading it even quicker

    Jan 22nd – everyone is told to wear masks officially by the government for the first time

    Jan 23rd – quarantine is enforced

    Jan 27th – mayor of wuhan steps down after complete incompetence during viruses outbreak

    This could have been avoided

26. Most Chinese eat strange things because they believe it has medicinal properties not because they need it, I’m sure some do, in fact I’ve seen it but mostly its for some thing they think it will cure, or some other reason like eating XYZ will bring you good luck and money.. something like this

27. I mean, unless you’re planning on going to mainland China?…or you are someone who works in a place that has a high volume of foot-traffic? then following some simple guidelines (which….in all actuality you should have been doing for most of your life!?)

    * When you get indoors from being outside, regardless of where you’ve just come from? remove your shoes, take off your coat, and then HEAD TO THE BATHROOM AND WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY. And I’m not talking a 2-minute dampening. You need to wash your hands with plenty of soap and water, for at LEAST 15 minutes.
    * When you’re out and about, try to avoid, as much as possible, touching your face / mouth / eyes / nose etc. And for goodness sake do NOT put your fingers in your mouth, or bite your nails, etc. A large majority of germs and bacteria, enter the body through your face, (eyes nose, throat-mouth)
    * Try to avoid touching people. While handshakes might be socially acceptable? I find a “fist-bump” provides less of a contact surface, and therefore gives you more of a fighting chance when trying to stay germ-free.
    * Avoid being in confined spaces where someone is coughing, sneezing, or otherwise expunging things from their bodies.
    * Try to always have hand-sanitizer, some kind of Clorox bleach wipes, and protective hand lotion on you at all times, you’d be surprised how lotion can create a protective barrier against your skin.

    While none of these things individually will be of true value?…combined?…..its like gearing up for war…..with a NUKE in your back pocket! Most germs and bacteria?….are “willfully transferred” through negligence or absent-mindedness on our parts. Pay attention to your surroundings, and watch where you put your hands, and stay safe!

    As for the zombie outbreak?……listen, first of all any Christian can tell you that’s all one great big JOKE! In that the ONLY person with the “power” to reanimate / resurrect the dead? is God, and last I checked?….He’s not thinking of doing that anytime soon. Secondly, even if they WERE real?……well why is it that no zombie show…..ever…..in all the creation of zombie movies ever showed what happens when you torch one? Why?…..well its kinda simple really you know what happens when you torch a zombie? you literally “cook off” all the rotting flesh,…..now….what happens when you remove that from a zombie?…….well it becomes a skeleton, and you CAN’T get the virus from a SKELETON…….matter fact……without the rotting muscles and tissue to MAKE IT MOVE?….you’re pretty much not at risk anymore, as skeletons cannot move under their own power…..LoL! (I guess this is why I never could sit through any zombie movies without laughing hysterically?…..it just doesn’t make sense….and me being a “Trekkie”?…and following the mindset of “Spock”?……its just not logical.)

    Due to the turmoil caused by the Corona Virus it has caused extenuating circumstance that has the caused me to cancel my trip from USA To Philippines. The following has been my experience as I have evidenced and I’m in possession of screen photo shots of my realtime chats with airbnb customer service.

    I had one single 30 day AirBnb reservation at a condominium in Davao starting on February 21, 2020. I requested a cancellation due to the fact that I will need to be in quarantine due to Corona Virus threat and Cebu Governor order for 14 days upon arrival at Mactan Cebu International airport in Philippines departing from Hong Kong.

    The Mactan Cebu International Airport are placing all passengers traveling or transiting from China Or Hong Kong under Quarantine for 14 days at an isolated location. The refund request has been denied by Airbnb and the host.

    Upon commencing my journey in USA I will be spending nearly 12 hours in Hong Kong and transiting through Hong Kong. Then I will be taking a connecting flight from Hong Kong to Cebu and then another domestic flight to Davao. AirBnB has denied refund of my monies and have thus so far kept my entire monies of nearly $600.

    Considering that American Airlines has fully cancelled and refunded my full monies for my trip from USA to Philippines I feel that Airbnb is not a entity that truly takes into fact extenuating circumstances involved for me to necessitate a cancellation.

31. I intended to take my GF (Ne) with me for my in &out at the 3-year point. Then stay for 2 or 3 weeks. After seeing the difficulties that there can be I am now thinking I guess we can just be separated for 24 hours.
    All of the talks about immigration caused me to ask her if they said anything to her when she went there to renew my visa since I broke my hip. I figured she just told them what happened & they said it was ok. She said they never asked why she was doing it. Sounds good to me. I live by if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
