Reekay you are 100% on time on this. LOL my first question is do you smoke, then are you or have you been married and then are there any kids.
I consider myself very lucky in that I met a Filipina who used to be a missionary who went to nursing school, had a good job and extremely frugal. Never asked me for money and even offered to pay for things herself. We’ve been married three years now.
Spot on analysis
Because of the internet dating in the Philippines is a lot more complicated. Many have been corrupted because of men being willing to blindly send money. Many good girls have turned bad.. and many bad girls have gotten worse.
Thanks I had to learn this the hard way
Great video and tips Henry. As for me, I will be traveling to Vietnam in July. If I happen to meet a Vietnamese that is not on my list of deal breakers, and especially can communicate in English, then my choice of looking for a Filipina diminishes.
Currently I am now on a dating site where different types of Asian women from different countries that live can message me. BUT, I am only messaging and responding to Vietnanese women since I’ll be going there. Makes it a whole lot simpler for me.
Now, if I do not meet the right type of Vietnamese woman, then I’ll plan another trip to another country (like Philippines or Thailand) and get back on the dating site to meet women from that country.
Constantly looking for handouts never ends well with me.
This video is up to your high standards, John Yamas
Dealbreakers for me: smoker, heavy drinker, party girl, chubby, below 5’2″ tall, pimples, mood swings, asking for money on the 2nd date…

25 trips…..over 12 years….went through about 300 of them…….finally found a girl who was working in the hotel I stayed at. we are going on 3 years now ! good tip: the ones that “Work a legitimate JOB” (many don’t want to) and don’t ask for anything (my girl) deserve a closer look.
Great advice. In one sentence I would say, know exactly what you want and have boundaries. And, consider your time frame in the Philippines. Be realistic.
Sage advice. Hard to break habits and wishing for won’t make it so
Agree
I remember one of your videos a few years back where you were in a restaurant eating with a bunch of expats and one old foreigner stuck out, he was wearing like the 70s disco outfit with a bunch of gold chains, rings, watch. He had a Filipina with him and i thought to myself “wow” who else is he trying to impress?
No drink, no smoking, no tattoos no party.
great points…. Navigation points or criteria is great… Just like you said…. write it down on paper… Because your mind will run away from you when you are immersed in all the female attention… These are little girls in many ways… and know how to manipulate their own fathers…. You are not the same… Because there are only two types of women in the world…. Those who really want you…. and to be with you and those who want what you have…
Bang on the money.
As you said Reekay, the hardest part is going from a drought in your country and then realising there is a flood in PI. Awesome advise. God Bless.
100% agree
This applies to all relationships, not only for the Filippines
Jealousy and argumentative are my dealbreakers
Dealbreakers: smoker, heavy drinker, big tattoos, has dated multiple foreigners, has a child living with relatives, wants to live in another country, previously married, over 33, pushes to get married quickly.
Good in depth video on an important subject
No it is!
