I agree with the majority of your message, especially to point of taking action to achieve goals. But I would refrain from advising expats to come to the Philippines with minimal “bridge money” of only 15K/year. It’s too common where newbies fall into the “kid in the candy store” behaivior and end up broke and destiude.

Seniors in hospice were interviewed about their life regrets. A common regret was not doing the things they wanted to try, living in fear, and worrying about others. Thinking about that is a motivator.
I’m 35. I stayed in Cebu for 6 weeks while after i quit one job waiting on the start date for the next.
I know I can’t live in USA any longer. I hope my home would be PH but anywhere is better than here.
My plan comes down to either:
Take a few days off work, Load up my work laptop, fly out to PH and work remotely (risky)
Buy rental properties and move there when I have at least 4 (more risk averse). Can still take my work laptop – just that if i get caught and they tell me i have to come back “actually no i don’t”.
