Since 2012 I’ve been traveling through various islands of the Philippines as a full-time Expat and spent 1999 living in Vietnam.

Share with me my ongoing adventures of life in the Philippines. Hopefully you find my observations helpful in your own adventures.

  2. This video may have saved me a couple hundred dollars a year. I’ve been keeping a US number active, and popping in the US SIM card when I need to do 2-factor authentication (or when I return home for a couple weeks per year). Thanks for sharing!

  3. Some financial institutions just will not accept anything other than a “legit” phone number. Capital One is one of those institutions. That is why I keep 1 “real” American phone number at a cost of $25/month.

  4. Interesting topic as I have issues w/this using my dual sim PH phone. My US CU ask if I want OTP via a automated call or text. I’ve used both in past but many issues esp. recently as my locale has poor signal often which is not uncommon here.
