Baby! This is why me and my Filipina wife are now getting divorced after being married after 4.5 years. She knew before she came to America to get married I did not want kids and she told me she’s ok with it. So now shes is going on her way to have a kid someway or with someone……She was dishonest to me.
sad to hear about that sir, well every filipinas has different culture and different religion, I understand you and her situation that she wanted to have baby. speaking for me in moralities it isn’t big dil to have baby it’s hard and i am not a big hurry for that, i m enjoy without baby and also him and i are traveling and i don’t want to lose my promise to him in Moral.
Pina women are very devout Catholics for the most part. They would rather be married.
@Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea I am looking forward to coming to the Philippines next year, but I think massive changes are coming though in terms of tourism and residency.
@Michael Fallas in the PH, there are over 55-million filipino men. and only a much smaller percentage of expats by comparison. so the massive numbers of single-mothers is happening due to local, filipino-filipino activity.

‘some’ of them are devout catholics. keep in mind, the PH has epidemic levels of single-mothers. there’s a big disconnect going on for that to be the case.

Reekay, I am truly happy for you and Vi. Like a hand in a glove hopefully for years to come. In spite of your “at-one-ness” now, you are wise to take your time about getting the govt. involved, which essentially puts a club into the woman’s hand to legally wreck a man’s life. In light of today’s corrupted legal system its is wise to keep the powers that be at bay.
Unfortunately, many times people change (sometimes radically). Your lover, ally and best friend can become your worst nightmare. I have been there and done that. I would caution anyone to give it time, time and then more time before even considering a legal tying of the knot. Best!
Your views on marriage seem wise. Marriage is the means whereby one party is enabled to prevail against the other, in divorce. This may have been appropriate back when there were traditional gender roles, societal expectations and a lack of contraceptive options. But, times have changed. Sternberg’s triangle shows that romantic love is passion and intimacy, not commitment to outdated gender roles and hormones that fade with time. Cheers.

Wow, the tally is 30 positive and 35 negative votes! What is so hard to understand? People from different cultures are accustomed to a different type of government and life. Vi and Henry did the best they could with the considerable restrictions imposed on them and they’re pretty laid back. The only thing my wife and I would have done differently, is watch more than one movie a night! Edit: We have different personalities than Henry and Vi, so we would complain a lot more, too. J
When you see a girl look at a man, in the way Vi looks at you Henry, it tells you all you need to know. If you are both happy as you are, why change it. Vi is young, simple but wise.

@Life’s Hacks the beach (silliman beach) at dumaguete is polluted with grey-water. i never swam in it, too filthy. but if you go south of duma, to dauin or bacong the beaches there are fresh and clean.

Are there free beaches to swim at in Dumaguete and how nice are they? I was in Lap Lap and the beaches there you had to pay to get in to use them. They were small and full of rocks.

Why get married in the first place, marriage means nothing, they can always just pick and leave, which so many do. If it’s not broken just leave it alone. If someone does not want to be with you anymore, marriage doesn’t force them to stay with you.
I guess the 11 thumbs down are those who are jealous.
So in other words, nobody can disagree with any blogger and have some credibility to their disagreeing, it can ONLY be because of jealousy ?? That kind of narrow thinking suggest that you believe no blogger can ever do something worth being disagreed to. As though what Michael ?? Are bloggers somehow high and mighty and never do anything wrong.
I could easily counter that with – I quess all those thumbs up are those who like to pat bloggers on the back and tell them how wonderful they are , and nothing more then a attempt to gain their approval .
