3. Reekay, I was just wondering…and I don’t know if you’ve discussed that topic as yet but in these Corona times, What happens if an expat contracts the virus and have to be hospitalised? Who pays for his hospital bills? I know some expats have VA benefits and even Philhealth, so what would happen to those who have neither? Out of pocket would be the last option

   1. Pretty simple. If you don’t have the money, or look like you don’t have money, you don’t get treated. This is not unique to expats. Happens to poor filipinos daily. There is no pay later plan. You’re usually told the doctor is not in today, or all the beds are are taken or they’re at capacity.

    1. @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea It would be NICE if the condo would let the residents take turns using the park, etc. You on Monday, someone else on Tues. etc. I’m in a similar situation. Can’t even get any sunlight.

    2. at the time, we had hopes of using the condo-park. but the following day found out it was closed for use, along with the sky-deck and pools. :/

    Most of my time away from Canada is spent in Cambodia and Thailand… I really miss those countries and the Buddhist temples. Take care.

37. feel pretty bad for you to have an extended lockdown in cebu. governor gwen garcia got her hands full with the sheer amount of PUI there. think its gonna be till may 15 before you see daylight. i am still waiting for tacloban to finish lockdown on april 30. good luck!

38. Coronavirus is a scam. It’s not any worse than the flu. Yes people are affected by it but it’s an extremely small percentage and being in lockdown for this thing is ridiculous.

       if brit in the ph had even an ounce of class he would publicly apologize for his baseless slander. as it stands he is in legal jeopardy for the things he’s said. slander, defamation and harm to reputation are taken very seriously in the philippines. he’d have zero legal defense for making such statements against myself or a filipina.
