  2. Oh gosh. That outfit you said you wore at the immigration office was hilarious. You’d be well dressed for pride day.

    1. @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea I will say that the Asians go overboard on the precautions. But then again, they may not have easy access to the required health care if they get covid. Unlike some of us in the west. So I suppose it’s all relative. At least you guys live in decent comfort and you have each other.

    2. it was so ridiculous, the whole scenario. and so many covid rules show that the same mindset is still in place.

requiring both a face-mask AND a face-shield, plus a plastic divider.. while inside a taxi?? geezuz.

  3. Up until you mentioned your problems with popcorn, I thought I was the only one. I love popcorn and still eat it but I can’t over do like I used to. It started happening to me about a year ago

    1. i had corn on the cob yesterday, which i love. the reaction is not “as bad” as with popcorn but i may begin cutting-back on that too. it’s mostly the kernel shells that seem to be the issue.

  4. Philippine Immigration is having an internal discussion about doing the same as Thailand. This comes from one of district heads of Bureau of Immigration. An announcement will be made in January (according to him). This is for tourist visa holders. We will see. I am beginning to think they are their own worse enemy.

    1. i’m sure someone has floated the idea. but yes, they’d be cutting their own throats to lose, in one year, massive amounts of money due to OFW losses plus the loss of money spent by expats currently residing here as tourists.

if anyone had their thinking-cap on, they’d be giving existing expat tourists an incentive to stay in-country (like a discount on immigration fees) to keep us expats spending money on rented condos, restaurants, medical, family-help to girlfriends, etc. but kick out the existing expats and all that money leaves with them.

  5. Reekay, funny that you say that you are not good at math. Surprising for someone who is an engineer. Thanks for your videos, lots of good info.

  6. Why do I get the feeling that I’ll be dead long before the Philippines opens back up!

  7. Seems like the only countries open to tourism are the countries nobody wants to go to.

  8. After 20 or so years in Mexico. Cyprofoxicina will kill any bacteria in a matter of 24 hours.Check the spelling

  9. Reekay, you might want to check out RUMBLE.COM, another streaming site. I heard it is starting to grow big since Facebook and Youtube are being assholes on what you put up. Just FYI

  10. Absolutely martial law…from the first drop…Duterte said as much…local authorities making up rules on the streets backed by police and army muscle without any checks and balances….THAT’s MARTIAL LAW. No matter how good the reason…no matter how PC the name….Martial Law is Martial LAw…and should be for as limited time as possible. Philippines is without a doubt the top 10 harshest Covid Procedures in the World…and probably top 3. My local agents kids have not stepped outside the condos interior since March 15….not once. In a couple years I would be similarly imprisoned. The current circumstances do no warrant similar blind authority and a blank check re-authorization for another 12 months. IF this administration gets significant holdover in the next election…I’ll have a bunch of very hard decisions.

    1. Maybe the Philippines is one of the hardest procedure when talking about lockdown processing. .
I agree with you. Even here in Italy I’ve heard here talking about PHILIPPINES how they handle this pandemic. .

  11. Any friend who picks you from LAX is a VERY good friend indeed. Is there any precautions that one can take to avoid getting stomach sickness in the Philippines or is it completely inevitable and random? That’s my one red flag that kind of scares me from the Philippines or Thailand.

    1. I’ve travelled to Thailand for months and been in the Philippines two years and never gotten stomach sickness. My rule is if it looks unclean and doogey and no one is eating there – don’t eat or drink there. Go to crowded places that are clean.

    2. yes, my mom asks how he’s doing so he’s a good guy. as for stomach issues, it seems more specific to the person’s tolerance. i suppose drinking probiotics like Yokult while in the PH is a good idea. i drink them about every 10-days or so. maybe that’s why i don’t get hit so hard. ??

    1. Mac Boracay well it’s hard to tell the Jack Daniels is $22 per 750ml and Marlboro cigarettes and Copenhagen are around $8.49 to $10.00
