  2. Are there any vloggers in the Philippines prepared to give up views to talk about other smaller areas of the Philippines? I think most people who are coming here focus on the big cities and expat towns. They don’t like living outside there comfort zone for a variety of reasons. Most prefer an expat bubble. Me … I like the province. Almost every video I made of where I lived got poor views. What I think the Philippines needs are vloggers that know how to put together entertaining videos. I’m not that guy.

  3. Everywhere could use more unique vloggers tbh. The talking head, uninformed, refuses to do any research vloggers have gotten really old in my opinion. I’d much prefer a more informative take, well informed and well documented. I’m a sucker for the silent Japanese vloggers that tell us everything from the price to travel time and enjoyment factors. Educative, easy to watch without long stitches of loud and boring transit. The camera is only rolling when there’s something worthwhile to focus on, never their face. Always the destination. I lament the drama queens… titles like “we couldn’t believe, we didn’t expect this in, shocked by blank in…” just makes you sound like you did a poor job researching tbh. Tell us something actually engaging y’all, don’t just say you didn’t believe something then forget to tell us what you didn’t believe lol

  4. There’s a YouTuber north side of Bohol in Talibon area, The name of his channel is “A foreigner farming In The Philippines”. Been around about 5 years.

  5. The youtuber monkey pack (and tiktok npc´s) are getting out of hand in Philippines.. they all film sametings screaming and fighting over the small banana youtube gives and most of them annoys the s*it of locals and expats.

  6. I don’t know how too blog but if I did I would do one on important things I brought from the US that has lasted me for over two years, why they have been important. What I was thinking the Philippines was going to be like. After two years what I have learned. If only I knew then what I know now, stuff.
Then after a week or less I would out of content. Lol. I’ll leave it up too you Reekay, your a natural.

  7. I think that there arent enough “talented” YouTubers in the Philippines, it is up to the individuals to decide who is talented or not. Regarding Filipinas starting channels that Premier sexual content, I think they are a discrace to the Filipino people

  8. Question is like this.
Does Philippines need anymore expat, singer, Rice, talent, children, technology, science, geologist,……..
    And it goes on

  9. I’m starting a Philippines Vlog , I’ve never been. it will be a vlog about Philippines Vloggers! LOL

  10. I’ve watched many vloggers and welcome many more. That said though I quickly unsub from the ones that bore me and are of no interest. I watch your videos all the time and I have been to ph three times for a month at a time already so I only get a nugget from you here and there but I enjoy listening to what you you have to say and you don’t push commercials on me from any sponsor. I think we watch the people we relate to so choice is good I guess.

  11. Thank you so much for your response. I will definitely get in touch with you hopefully by WhatsApp, or some other method where we can talk. I am temporarily immobilized, so I cannot visit Bohol.

  12. Buddy, I’d take the original Cosmos series over anything Bill Nye the creepy Junk guy ever did.

  13. Yes, we need one more vlogger to vlog about all of the other PHilippine vloggers. LOL!

  14. Everything you said is on point here..a large portion of the videos that get recommended in my feed are the tiny Philippines vlogger YouTube channels you described, which either cover the same topics that have already been covered ad nauseum, are low-substance vlogs, or have clickbait titles with salacious content. It just becomes a process of clicking ‘Don’t recommend channel’ on these. Yours is the only channel at this point I look forward to every video because of how informational and immediately applicable to life in the Philippines each video is, along with your dedication to quality. Thank you for that Reekay!

  15. No!!! I don’t want any bloggers moving into my area and ruining it like the other places! Stay in Manila and Cebu and Dramagettti.

  16. I don’t know, Henry. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough 45 minute videos of young to middle aged Euro couples fawning over every piece of merchandise in the Gucci Store in Mandaluyong, telling me how they never expected to find such a thing in the Philippines or the guys doing hour long, silent processionals featuring highlights of the biggest slums in the major cities of the Philippines.

  17. Your content is top tier for Life & Philippines. Always listen to grandma.

  18. Common sense displays are always entertaining!
Rare things always spike curiosity, and you have plenty of it.

  19. I just started posting some videos on Facebook that may be of interest and I’m thinking about starting a YouTube channel, inspired by your work. Maybe we can meet someday either at my place or yours.

  20. I think that there are many foreigners that don’t have the income that they need to live the lifestyle they want. They create a YouTube channel just to supplement their income. They have no real value.

  21. What prospective expats really need is advice about navigating utterly unforeseeable red-tape, encumbrances, and weird stuff only an experienced expat would know or be able to contextually explain. Thanks. Much appreciated.

  22. Your show is way useful, informative and entertaining to boot; excellent resource for new and prospective expats.

  23. Enjoyed your video (as always), with good productive suggestions for future bloggers. I know I’d like to see more of the places you mentioned. I’m most interested in central and northern Mindanao at the moment, especially the Malaybalay area.

  24. I watch your channel for the educational value. Your advice is applicable to outside the Philippines.

  25. I agree. Bicol is like an undiscovered gem that no one really talks about.

  26. No Sir there’s too many putting out crap for content , when I moved to Mindenao in the province . I still can’t find one vlogger 2:33 with content regarding my location except for me now with shorts !

  27. I pull info from as many sources as possible in order to be more informed. This includes expats living in the Phillipines like yourself and actual Philippine people for perspective on living conditions, creature comforts, relationships, and costs. One thing that concerns me more than anything else is to understand the people and culture before I arrive so that I avoid doing anything stupid or offensive to anyone.. The Pea just dropped a video where she interviewed nearly a dozen Philippine men with a series of questions that a number of her viewers have been asking.

  28. My own favorite not-yet-blogger is a 21-year-old student in Zamboanga. Dirt-poor, but with a truly sick but sophisticated sense of humour. I agree that we need geographic diversity – but more than that we need more cultural diversity – not these non-native former-westerners explaining life in the Philippines to westerners.

  29. I do appreciate the variety of perspectives even if vogers cover the same topic in the same area; as long as the topic is well presented and informative each personality brings different thought backgrounds, humor and opinions. what are the best videos recently was when two popular Vlogger togethers shared contrasting opinions about the same topics. different ages, different origins, different goals all shed a new light. So different locations is just one variable in this that could use more content. Each new vlogger gives a fresh perspective so bring on the variety.

  30. This is a subject I have been waiting for for a long time. Most everything is so true. However, there is an element that maybe I missed or was not mentioned. Many single guys come to the Philippines looking for paridise and hopefully fall in love. After taking notes from other influencers they make there way to Asia, and then realize they either don’t have anything to do or they need more money. So guess what they start a YouTube channel. Most everyone in Dumaghetti that’s an expat all 4,500 have started a channel at one time or another.

  31. Excellent hermano you hit the nail on the head. I agree about this new phenomenon of Filipinas doing videos for youtube too. Unfortunately i do not watch them because of it being obviously sexual in nature unless you are the Filipina Pea with mostly great content. The rest of the girls just do it because someone told them they should.

  32. As always, the crap ones will die cos there is no benefit, the decent ones will make quality vloggers. Not Dramaguette

  33. I follow this channel, I followed Paul and Gio as well as one or two others. One of the things that has made me confident that I want to move to the Philippines when I retire is the fact that all of you cover every aspect of basic life and you are all pretty much in agreement, and on the same page, let’s face it, immigrating to a whole different country is a pretty huge step. I don’t know that I would consider it if I only had one or two sources to learn from, especially if they were posting conflicting information.

  34. No. The Philippines doesn’t need any more vloggers. That space is oversaturated already.

  35. Fazio passed away so that took one out. I really liked his videos when he was able to travel around.

  36. Reekay, regarding the number of Youtubers. Your views on this are absolutely spot-on.
I have been really turned off lately by all of the drama going on, and the trend toward Youtubers interviewing other Youtubers. There seems to be a lack of useful content, so they’re having to interview each other to have something to say. I have winnowed my subscription list to just a few.
Your channel, and Rob at “Fly me to the Philippines” have been very consistent with providing information that is useful and pertinent.
Keep up the good work Sir. -Bob

  37. Some YT viewers aren’t searching for vids on the Philippines. Some viewers have been following certain channels no matter where the footage comes from, so…..

  38. I am currently on Vacation in Liloy Zamboanga where my Wifes Family Live.
We are here to decide whether to build a Property on some land She owns.
This is my third trip to Liloy over the last 6 years.
We live in Taytay Rizal on the outskirts of Manila where we Run a Variety Store.
Im English and my Wife is Philippino.
I would Love to do Vlogs on these areas but although i am interested i wouldnt have a Clue how to go about it.
Im 74 years of age and i would appreciate any feed back off you privately if possible.
I have been a Subdcriber to your channel for 5 years or more.

  39. Except that people that really understand science call him Bill Nye The Bullshit Guy.
