  1. This topic is very important as of recent times … as social media is basically an unregulated industry and there exists an “anything goes” culture … Congress must come together and work on some basic regulations to this industry. Good video!

  3. 11:00 What if the “imputation” is true? Can you be prosecuted for making true statements?
    If the accusations were made on YouTube then YouTube can be prosecuted as it is their site that they are allowing the libel to take place on and they should police it.

    1. in the PH, “real or imaginary” statements done to dishonor one’s reputation are within the definition of the law.

  5. There was a guy in Thailand he gave a really bad review to a hotel he stayed at. He ended up arrested and in jail.

    1. yes. i’ve sat in on a court proceeding in cebu and it was done in english.

I know but was on my old phone also on your community page to see news from others also only lots of criticism from Americans who talk to each other ” like private” about very very minor details.   9. It’s pretty pathetic when someone’s platform on YouTube is constantly bashing other successful you tubers . Let all the trolls fall in line with there sick and evil ways. It just goes to show there losers in life . I think Omar dropped some superglue on his car seat and is stuck in his car for life. You have many supporters out here .

  10. I love the passport hold. It stops silly civil cases from fleeing but it also stops criminals from fleeing the country as well. There are a number of expats who commit crimes and leaves to avoid prosecution, they suck. It never ceases to amaze me how many foreigners act out while in another country. I’ve seen in the Philipines, Mexico , Australia, Kenya and to a small degree in Europe. When you are a guest in another country show respect for all the locals and behave like a guest. Its been a minute since I caught your show, thank you for all the bs you deal with and know that there are people who appreciate your work. Edit to add, my experience in Southeast Asia has led me to believe that none of the countries like the loud vulgar talk and disrespect they hear.

    1. absolutely. while ‘some’ do manage to sneak out of the country before the passport-hold is given to immigration, many find out they cannot leave until they appear in court.

Gotta tell ya, Henry, I also used to watch a channel of another American who lives with his family in Angels City who made a very unprofessional comment about your relationship with a younger woman on his channel. The individual claims to be a retired corrections officer who would be familiar with the law, so one would think. This behavior has to stop or viewers will tire easily and unsubscribe. Edit to add, my mama taught me that if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything. Old school manners are becoming extinct and it is not a good thing.

    1. i have tallied the numbers and we’re talking about less than 130 individuals who are rallying around this type of lynch-mob mentality against decent vloggers. but the decent vloggers have 100’s of thousands of supporters who easily recognize troll behavior for what it is.

      on average i gain from 450 to 600 new subscribers every month. people can ‘vote’ for themselves on which channels they will watch and the ones they will ignore.

  13. A good way of handling this slandering and namecalling, anyone that accusing someone of something ”criminal” should be able to back it up with specific law, I can’t see that those guys can.

    1. so many examples i can give of their lies. one example is when a troll happened to be on the same flight as vlogger, Tim K. he snuck some photos of him on the plane and later made a video stating that Tim was out “cheating on his wife”. even though Tim was alone and simply taking a flight.

      this is what trolls do. they take one item and blow it up into a completely unfounded piece of lying gossip. they rant on it for 3-hours hoping people will believe them in order to harm their victim.

  16. I watched the first 25 minutes, an interesting concise overview of the differences in the law on this topic. We are products of our culture, tradition and religious indoctrination and life experience. For example, family law has become a huge practice area in the West and a major reason many men are now avoiding marriage. Yet there are those who expect every man to bend a knee and sacrifice themselves irrespective of the divorce statistics.

    1. good stuff! i’ve bought sisig (raw) at Landers and cooked it up myself at home, with the onions and garlic, but not bell peppers. add an egg and so-good! 🙂

You need to put a stop to this kind of harassment immediately. Forgive me, I do know you’re taking care of business. It just caught me by surprise of what degree thoughtless people will go to.

    1. Not to belabor the point, but what if this person informed your mom that you had been killed in some horrid fashion…? The list is endless, of the stupidities, they could tell your mom. I’m sure she’s a very strong person but a shock like that at 2 in the morning could send her in to some kind of cardiac episode. The person that did this must be reckoned with. Again, good luck with your endeavors concerning this matter.

  27. What if I say something bad about a person on Facebook while I’m in the USA and then fly to the Philippines and that person tries to use what I said on Facebook while I was in the USA against me in the Philippines?

    1. @lucas thijssen what you are referring to is known as, ‘double jeopardy’. which states that a person cannot be tried for the same crime twice… ‘by’ the same country’s court. however, a person can be tried and sentenced in one country and then extradited to face the same charges in their own country.

      this can occur with drug dealers who may face and serve sentence in the usa and then, upon completion of sentence are remanded to mexico to then face criminal charges there as well. same with pedophiles caught in cambodia who are prosecuted in cambodia, and then remanded back to their own country to face the same charges.

    3. that could be an issue. ‘when’ it happened may not matter. the fact that it was made public and now you’re in the PH is what could result in a problem.

I can even say for myself I found a lot of people who I thought were my friends, were mad at me for visiting the philippines…they are jealous because they are in an unhappy marriage and saw pictures of me having a great time.

    1. I got treated the same way after I visited the Philippines. I plan on.making a lot of trips in the future. I don’t care what people think.
