Share with me my ongoing adventures of life in the Philippines. Hopefully you find my observations helpful in your own adventures.

Hi Reekay..your words are almost those I once used with a past girl friend using whitening cream on her skin to look more European. I told her that, Cuteness was in the eye of the beholder however she should not need to change her skin tone, to mimic the falsified image of some photographic airbrushed magazine model. from the US, UK or AUS. Also I think this filippina still had a problem accepting her own cultural originality. To me she was beautiful as she was…and other ex pat men also thought similar. As you mentioned in your pod cast..its OK to be who you are..and to a degree be proud of your ancestry and the language(s) you speak. My Tagalog also sucks,as dose my nearly non exist-ant Visayan. Your advice to Filippinas on this Pod cast is very factual and diplomatic…I can’t see that anyone would be offended as it is a positive feel good about themselves message.
