We are shipping at least 3 balikbayan boxes with LBC ahead of our trip to the Phils this July. Here is Calif, there really is no better shipping service – especially for pasalubong. They have their one fleet of vans and trucks here as well as in the Phils. Door to door service – they pick up the boxes at your home and you hand the driver a check for payment. They bring the boxes to the port, take care of customs, and deliver to the destination using their own vehicle and driver. I’m not aware of the service ever being restricted just to Filipino nationals. LBC has been around since the 80’s. My wife’s family is in Laguna. Not sure how the service fares rural areas.
Paul old dog says shoes are very hard to find in larger sizes,and he has a small foot. He took back like 6 pairs of shoes just for himself from Walmart. I have a size 12. So if what he says is true, best to take several pairs for a long stay.

I will be bringing two big suitcases full of clothes. I’m not spending 30 bucks on a Nike,puma, ua, adidas shirt in Philippines. All the non-name brand clothing is like 6 inches too short and only gets wider if you buy a larger size. Last time I was there for 8 months with a week’s worth of clothes. They disintegrated by the time I got home to buy more clothes. I will roll those big suitcases right past all those taxi drivers trying to grab your bags for a tip. Telling him no thanks my father-in-law’s right here to pick me up thank you.
I know that it’s been about 30 years and I was married to a Filipina. But I sent many BB-Boxes to my ex-inlaws with LBC from San Diego. The account was in my name.
im not filippino . when i move to phil i cant ship a box to myself ?
I am Canadian… “whitey” and I sent 2 BB-Boxes in September 2021, just before I left for Mexico… no problems.
Hey Henry. What’s your best guess on when Philippines will accept unvaccinated foreigners ? I see that Vietnam is now open to everyone, vaxxed or non vaxxed. They don’t care. All they want to see is a negative pcr test. I may go there if the Philippines doesn’t come to their senses.

Less stuff, less stress.
I dress very light. I bring summer clothes: T-shirts, shorts, sandals, etc.
I’m about to hop a Emirates Business class flight to Maldives and then Philippines. Leaving Thursday.
I book a condo in Quezon City with a laundromat to make cleaning clothes easy.
When I take gifts to Philippines, it’s usually stuff that’s expensive there and cheap here in NYC. TSA opens your packages tho. It annoys me.
