  1. Last time I took flu shot was before SARS 1.about 20 years ago. It never seem to make any difference. People still take that vaccine and still get the flu. I am Canadian living in Cebu a year now and planning to return in January 2021

  2. hi reekay……as a regular long term winter visitor to ph can l suggest a tack that any s e asian country could take……..the first country to 2 open is almost certain to get a very high influx of tourists so why not try to be the 1st…… a covid test paid for a the airport would give some protection for the country… but the positive effects on the economy and population would be massive and a great boost for the popularity level of the president or residing government

  3. I’m not too worried about taking a vaccine, I will go for it. I’m going to the VA for a flu shot soon, if they offer a covid shot at some point in the future I will take it.

  4. I just got back from Cuba. We had to get tested once we got there but it was worth it and test was not painful. Take a look at my vlog

  5. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is projected to be highly effective, and should be out of Phase IV by December. They have over 100 million doses of this vaccine as of an investor press release from a couple weeks ago. This is a major game changer, since people who document they’ve taken the vaccine are anticipated by some to be free to travel, work, shop, etc. anywhere in the world.

  7. As much as I would like to some place like borocay ,the protocols are off-putting and the covid test on top family of 4 would cost around 20 K before pack bags then roaming around with mask and sheild at resorts ,no thanks will just go down to the local beach

  8. Hi Reekay, I’ve been a subscriber for a while, my family & home is on Camiguin, I want to thank you for all the valuable info you pass along

  9. The new visa requirements make it seem impossible to get in to the philipines now..

    1. for right now, only expats married to a filipina or have a child in the PH can enter. and even then need to check with immigration about a qualifying long-term visa before entering.

  10. I’m Filipino born but lived in US since 1984, now looking to retire soon and thinking to retire in Cebu. Good informative channel you have.

  11. I had diferent experiences regarding neighbourhood issues like extreemely loud and primitive disco music, littering (throwing their garbage in front of my gate etc.), parking issues, or dog barking. I approached the people and explained to them it is up to them as what they want to be recognized. They were shocked somebody explaining to them what a respectfull neighbourhood should be and you know what happen? All the women were immediately on my side and things improved considerably. For the ones who did not want to listen, I had a surprise, I pursuated the owner of a vacant lot next to mine to enclose it with a fence and ask rent from the people parking on his property. As from then a “negotiator” told me, that in future they would respect me. With the kids playing on the road I made a special agreement: No littering anymore for twice a month some free time at the nearby internet-shop! Meanwhile the small compound has turned, with some minor exeptions, into quit a livable place and this almost in the center of Cebu City! Facit: Yes you CAN tell people YOUR concerns, but it is a matter of reasonability, striking arguments and the right tune with a little bit cleverness and power. Even the day and night barking dogs have disapeared. LOL sometimes wonders happen!

  12. The rice issue: The rice problem in the Philippines is because the whole production and the imports are in the hands of very few clans who are very well connected to Government and the Legislators. They are all $-billionairs and controll the rice market in whole SE-Asia (together wich a clan from Thailand)! No change to be seen until for some reasons the imports would not be possible anymore.

  13. As far as I know there are vaccines for people who are SICK! There is no vaccine preventing the CCP_CV-19 malady for many years to come! For the time beeeing Governments are scared to open their borders (also internal borders of provinces) because the Virus can spread again. The classic tourism is for many years dead! Yes it was “only” about 12.7% of the GDP, BUT it fed a lot more people who suffer now and lots of smaller businesses which will go bust! I monitor also larger businesses pushing now into the markets which traditionally were held by smaller entities and push them out of business. Corruption and inefficient authorities play their part there too. There are no signs of “back to normal”! Plus since the comsume of imported goods is much less now, also much less dollars leave the country! The big cash cows ramain the supplies of cash, this means the Gov. is not interested AT ALL to lift the restrictions!

  14. For what it’s worth, I know most of you all are tourists, but for those interested in working in Asia, I am noticing more businesses are starting to make contact with me than they did even a month ago. I’m thinking that for Western workers, borders will effectively be open by November/December.

    1. Note: I’m not really talking about PH so feel free to totally ignore everything above. Hahahah

  15. Hello Reekay, can I ask a question? If your US bank doesnโ€™t charge international transaction fees for debit withdraws would it still be necessary to transfer money into a Philippine bank account and draw from that? Or just use or just continue to Use your US bank. Thank you Reekay?

  16. The future of travel? How about No Covid Vaccination, No Travel. I have read about this possibility many times.

  17. Is there any recourse to contest a false positive at your destination. Some tests render a very high incidence of false positives.

  18. Before you take any vaccine, I recommend you look up the YouTube video Robert Kennedy jr destroys Fauci. I think it is a poorly titled video and I find myself in sharp disagreement with Kennedy on most other topics, but he sure has my attention regarding vaccines. Like you say Reekay, if I get any vaccine at all, I am at the back of the line and also waiting two years to see what happens to the self appointed lab rats in front of me. Even then I will probably figure if I made it two years, I don’t need it anyway. This covid vaccine comes to us under the coercion of a lot of bad data, manipulation and fear mongering medical terrorism. That is enough to cause me to say no way. I will resist with force a covid vaccine

  19. Reekay, really great live stream. I watched alot of it. Really great advice.. Hey, Regarding XL and bigger sizes for guys coming here. Go to an Ukay Ukay. I got name brand like new clothes and shorts. Some for 20 to 50 pesos each. XXL and XL american sizes. Some are really, if not new.. like new. Wash it first! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I came here with the idea of coming back in June for a month or two and then coming back to PI. Covid changed that! So Ukay Ukay is great, i had to buy some more clothes since it appears i wont travel back to the states til next year!! Ukay ukay is Like in the USA a good will store. same thing! (This info is more for your YT watchers.. ) Thanks again for adding my vlog to your webpage! if you ever go through La Union area.. hit me up! I can show you and Vi around .. Cheers, Mark

  20. has the philippine goverment talking about testing before getting on plane to reduce quarantine time?

  21. When you think we can go to philippines ? Im planning to take my gf here to Oman and Mary her at the Embassy if this continue for too long

    1. @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea yes true know its not good for travel right now and most likely in december or 2nd quartee they might take in foreingers.
Though its an option to to marry outside philippines then go philippines toghetee. Was a thouhht pf mine xD

    2. at the earliest.. mid-november. but more likely late february if the ph decides to wait for a vaccine before opening borders.

getting a filipina out of the PH right now is difficult. PH prefers they stay in the ph.

  22. I’m with you you don’t push something like that through in just a few months or even years they’re just going to have to open the world up and do like that agency wants to do before you get on the plane check you if it’s as bad as they really say if you’re good get on the plane if it says negative they should give you another one at least because there’s always the chance that something else can trigger a test I say open the world up just stay away from those countries that we know it’s no good to be in in the first place because none of us is going to live forever if you got that mentality what a road awakening you will get one day
