No matter what country you. travel to make an effort to familiarise yourself with their laws and customs.
Breach any of them and you’ll be dealt with under their legal system not you country’s!
I remember the case of the expats caught with a significant quantity of class A narcotics in Indonesia. They were executed by firing squad.
One set of Devastated parents abd representatives from the Australian Government tried pleading for mercy to no avail.
One distraught father pointed “if my son got caught with a similar quantity of drugs in Australia he’d be sentenced to 5 years in jail.”
You could not help feel sympathy for his anguish but the fact is. His Son was an adult with drug convictions in Australia and knew the risks and penalties in Indonesia!
Of course, when they fought wars over that mafia
