I paid for Filipino cupid once…BIG MISTAKE! It was a begging fest, everybody had a sob story, everybody wanted money, and when I say everybody, I mean everybody. I got tired of sending money after awhile and permanently deleted my account. I’m still on some other dating sites but I can’t take a Filipina, Chinese or Thai woman seriously.
A lot of fake photos, a lot want instant visit. I prefer some sort of validation, where the profile owner scans proof and the site marks you as validated to show real photos, age, home city, etc.
I liked Cherry Blossom, they have been doing this since 1969 with mail. Now they kick off scammers.
Just stay away from A Foreign Affair or any of its multitude of affiliate sites.
I am 74. I am on a dating website to find Filipinas to meet when I start my 2 month “explore the Philippines” in April. It is a boost to my self-confidence to get all the likes and messages. I put a code word in my profile as a test of them reading my profile and if their English is good enough to read to the end of the profile. So far, a scammer has asked for $ 1,320 for clearing a China overstay fine (I responded no to that and any other money requests). The toughest part is the swipe lefts on the beautiful women pictures you need to do. Examples – no profile info (imaginary women) or children (I need milk money scam). I agree you need to have your emotions in check. I started in January and have had an emotional roller coaster caused by the attempted scams. I should have waited till next month, one month ahead of time, to avoid the roller coaster.
There are thousands of scammers on ALL of the dating sites in the long run I think it’s worth going to an agency !
