The Vietnamese think a age gap of ten years is too much. They tend to overvalue the women and have tried to set me up with girls that I would never date. Of course if I agreed to marry a girl without knowing her I could get a pretty girl that wanted me for a green card.
The Translations Apps have greatly improved since the 2010’s and 2000’s teens. Like all electronics technologies. In person and online translation only takes seconds and minutes in most instances.
I’ve lived in Vietnam for many years this video is very accurate to a point. That point I’m talking about is time. Vietnamese girls regardless of age and status will very much consider that one day you will leave Vietnam as the main reason not to date you regardless of what the family is saying. Most Vietnamese girls will gladly waste your time until they can find out if you will stay long term. If they can be fairly sure you are staying there for a while then any girl regardless of status and age will be accepting of you… but honestly by that point most western men have moved on or simply given up (understandably )
The idea that they want a commitment from you before you had time to understand if you even like them is the most annoying part lol
Again Henry, very sorry about Gina as she was a wonderful woman. But I understand that language barriers with any Asian woman is enough for many men to give up, become distracted, and end up in the Philippines.
Language barriers aside, what is the acceptance rate on large age gaps with poor young girls from the countryside – like from farming and fishing families? Your comparison of city dwelling professionals, serious students and established business owners doesn’t directly compare to education challenged, jobless fiipinas from the province, much of whom older expats hook up with.

I tried the google translate a few years ago while trying to message my now-ex VN girl friend’s sister and VN girl friends. I found that even google translate struggled with Viet. I had to translate my English into Viet, then plug that Viet back in to translate back to English. Then review the passages where the translation obviously failed and dumb down the English until the translations basically matched.
Bit of a story as to why I was having to message those women. It turned out I was plan B, lol. But atleast I got a trip to Hanoi for four weeks while it lasted and while there got expert but cheap wisdom tooth extraction and root canal crown done by a little pretty female dentist who did everything on her own.
VN was somewhere I never would have considered going previously, due to the language barrier.
Without a common language it is an empty relationship. Neither side will have the patience to stay the course. In my opinion if a man is going to live in her country, he should put in the effort to learn the local language.
Women in Vietnam actually have standards unlike most filipinas who will go to bed with any expat in hopes of getting money.
3:35, why did you not make an effort to learn Vietnamese, instead of expecting her to speak English? You would probably also have scored points with the parents.
I agree with you on this, Reekay.. I’ve been flirting with this cute Vietnamese lady who’s in her 20s and is a concierge at a popular hotel in Da Nang. We’ve been chatting ever since I left a few weeks ago, but I’ve noticed this “distance” she keeps from me. I’ll be spending January and February in Danang next year, so we’ll see how that goes!

What do you recommend for someone who is travelling through Vietnam and is only interested in hooking up as opposed to dating ?
If dating is tough in Vietnam….its a BIG no visit for me.
Also Thailand is a waste. I heard middle and high value Thai women dont date foreign men…..or its rare.
I have watched many youtube/TikTok videos of foreign men visiting Thailand wasting money in beer bars/ gogo bars in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.
Partying n getting drunk with single moms, free lancers, p2p and ladyboys. What a waste of time and money.

theres no problem with age gap here. if you are a grown ass man and can handle the family, women in vietnam for the most part do not let parents meet the bf unless marriage has been talked about
