  2. What kind of meat do they BBq in the Phillipines? Is it mostly chicken? I didn’t hear any roosters. 🙂

  3. The good thing about being married is that you don’t know tomorrow. Maybe you may get seriously sick here in the Philippines, if that happens then your partner will be there for you. Being hospitalized with no body by your side is very sad. Being married alleviate your loneliness, especially living in foreign country.

  4. Congrats Reekay on your marriage , hope you have a lifetime together . God bless you both .

  5. 11:37 I try to see the things differently. I like this great quote from the philosopher Epictetus: “We are disturbed not by events, but by the views which we take of them.” I try to be more flexible and to avoid to dramatize or overreacting.

  6. Meeting the neighbors is definitely a plus for me in the Philippines. I’ve met so many amazing people just walking around and talking. One of our neighbors was a 90 year old woman who was terrified of Americans. I guess she had bad experiences with them during WW2. But after a few weeks of seeing me everyday she got comfortable around me and even started teasing me and joking around lol. Her favorite thing to do was sneak up behind me and pinch my butt then wink at me. My mother in law thought it was hilarious HAHAHA

  7. If you couldn’t wait, Why did it take you almost a year after they opened up to return to your wife ?

  8. Maayon buntag to Vi & Reekay ( The God father of Philippines Expat Vloggers ) I am so happy for you guys ….Like I said ‘you have one of the best wives that, the Philippines has to offer..And She has one of the best men America has to offer as well.. I will join as a member gladly. As I stated in my previous message to you, I’m flying to Manila (just staying 1 day) meeting my fiance/and her sister . Will marrying her in her home town in Bico region. I can’t thank you enough for what you did to make travel and relationship a pleasurable experience…. Salamat po Henry

  9. My sweetie filipina already back in Bohol for good and she upgrading her land and her rice field etc. I’ll be visiting her in four or five months. God willing I will settle down completely by end of this year. God bless everyone.

  10. I loved what you said about connecting with people. I went to Yokosuka, Japan back on deployment, WESTPAC 1984, when I was in the U.S. Navy. my mindset back then was a dream come true because of all of the old anime back then I wanted to go to Japan and meet and marry a Japanese Woman. I didn’t get to do that as there were protests by the local because of our presence there, which we understood. But I and another shipmate found a tea shop run by a father and son. They spoke no English and we spoke no Japanese but that was one of the most meaningful conversations over some beer and tea that I have ever had. I also appreciate what you said about being patient about going overseas. I am waiting on the VA to take care of my disability and now I have to wait for my pension from this job in about 4 years BUT that doesn’t mean I can’t travel overseas in the meantime which is what I am going to do. I like the Book of Ecclesiastes and for those who do not read the Bible, the song, “Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)” by the Byrds also refers to it. Writing this though I am thinking of “Time of the Season” by the Zombies! Thank you for the Wisdom and Knowledge, Sir! Congratulations to You and Your Asawa…! Gihigugma ka sa Ginoo ug na-ay iyang plano para sa among kinabuhi…

  11. Henry you are the one putting your life on display and you made that decision being a YouTube vlogger and having the content platform that you created. Therefore you aren’t going to like every comment/opinion that I have regarding your life on display.

I’m happy that you and Vi are stoked but it’s my hope that you don’t bring her to America. If Vi were born in America and America was her homeland since birth Vi would have nothing to gain by being with you because she would be a hot commodity in America and she would be flooded with options from men that would benefit her far greater than you can benefit her.

Love puts blinders on your face and love removes you from reality and the truth. Women by nature select a male companion by what they can and will gain from that companion and Filipina women are unique in beauty and charm but Filipina women operate the same way that all women operate, and in spite of your many years of time lived in PH and the many things you’ve learned about the way of life in the Philippines…………

The women of the Philippines aren’t anything special. They have a unique charm and beauty but they operate the same way as all other women do from other 3rd world countries and first world countries.

  12. Congratulations to you both God Bless you both with love and happiness for the rest of your lives ❤️

  13. I have been married now going on 6 years in july, and things are great we have a 5 year old son and bought some land in northern Cebu and a home here in Consolacion. Do you have plans to buy or build a home here or take your wife back to the states? Also children in your future? CONGRATS TO YOUR FAMILY!

  14. Good talk Reekay….Yeah I’m trying to be patient as I’m waiting on getting my Social Security which is slow moving because I will be moving to the Philippines….can’t wait

  15. A little late with my congrats, but….CONGRATULATIONS! I won’t find it difficult to remember your wedding anniversary date, since it is my wife’s birthday!

I flew out of Manila to Sydney on December 31, 2019, leaving my wife behind, unaware that COVID would have such a huge impact on us all. I am flying back to Manila on coming February 7 to “catch up” with my asawa after a little over 3 years apart.

We were “dating” for 12 years (2005 to 2017) before we finally married. Our “neighbourhood” in the Philippines consists mainly of family / relatives, and not all relationships with the family are “good” ones, but hey, that’s life, diba?

Take care always. Enjoy life…that’s what it is for.
