  2. A violent form of extremism linked to Islamist ideologies has emerged globally, with each instance leading to widespread destruction and loss. Known by many names, these groups have been classified as terrorist organisations across multiple nations due to their violent tactics and interpretations of Islam.

    Middle East

    1. Al-Qaeda: Notorious for the 9/11 attacks, with a global network originating in Afghanistan.
    2. ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria): Established a “caliphate” in 2014, controlling vast areas of Iraq and Syria.
    3. Hezbollah: Operates mainly in Lebanon with both military and political influence, also involved in conflicts across the Middle East.
    4. AQAP (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula): Active in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, responsible for attempted attacks on Western nations.
    5. Al-Nusra Front: Formerly Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria, now part of other groups.

    Africa

    1. Boko Haram: Known for kidnappings and attacks across Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.
    2. Al-Shabaab: Based in Somalia, with attacks extending into Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
    3. Ansar al-Sharia: Linked to Al-Qaeda, active in Libya and Tunisia.
    4. ISGS (Islamic State in the Greater Sahara): Operating in the Sahel, with attacks across Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger.

    South Asia

    1. Taliban: Enforces strict interpretations of Islamic law and currently controls Afghanistan.
    2. Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM): Based in Pakistan, focused on attacks in Kashmir and India.
    3. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT): Responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks, with operations in India and Afghanistan.
    4. ISKP (Islamic State Khorasan Province): An ISIS affiliate in Afghanistan, known for attacks on civilians.

    Southeast Asia

    1. Jemaah Islamiyah: Responsible for the 2002 Bali bombings, based in Indonesia.
    2. Abu Sayyaf: Based in the Philippines, known for kidnappings and bombings.
    3. MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front): Although a peace agreement was reached, factions remain active.

    Caucasus and Central Asia

    1. Caucasus Emirate: Seeks to establish an Islamic state in Russia’s North Caucasus.
    2. Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU): Based in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, allied with ISIS.

    Europe

    1. Sharia4Belgium: Recruited fighters for Syria and Iraq; its networks persist.
    2. ISIS-linked cells: Responsible for multiple attacks across France, Belgium, Germany, and the UK.

    Global Affiliates and Cells

These groups operate through regional affiliates and cells, coordinating attacks, spreading propaganda, and recruiting across continents.

These organisations have been recognised internationally for their violent acts against civilians, government bodies, and infrastructure, aiming to instil fear and impose ideological goals.

  3. Homies don’t play in the Philippians. Can you imagine two families in the US fighting it out and no one goes to jail.
Oh wait……..drug families do this in Chicago everyday. My bad.

  4. When a body dies, it usually turned pale and “light skin”, so that’s probably one of the confusion that arisesvfrom the assumption thst it was caucasian.

  5. Well, anyone with a functioning brainstem would’ve known it wasn’t Eastman. Bodies don’t simply decompose that rapidly, especially in salt water.

  6. This is a comment on society and struggles of real filipino culture westerners don’t see. It’s real and exists . Value of life in the Philippines is ironic and an oxymoron how caring families are . Don’t kid yourself its dog eat dog for survival . Having been in that area myself I saw first hand . Most utubers sugar coat reality . Another reality check keep your head on a swivel.

  7. Similar to other regions in the archipelagic Philippines, that area of Mindanao boasts breathtaking natural beauty. However, beneath the picturesque landscapes lies a hidden danger, particularly for foreigners. Even locals often hesitate to explore the area, making it an unwelcoming place for potential residents.

  8. Well I am surprised. I was just waiting for the authorities to say it was him, but then I don’t know just how many bodies wash up in the Philippines.

  9. he went in there not knowing the religion, tradition and culture of the bride… for them he disrespected the tribe, i hope they have mercy of him and just allow him to be converted to islam so he can marry the girl

  10. Americans get the hell out of the Philippines! Everyday conditions are only going to get worse.
You expats have a target on your back and their government doesn’t give two shits about you.

  11. ALL, THESE BODYS AN KIDNAPPINGS, VIOLENCE IS NOT GOOD FOR TOURISM, DURING THIS GLOBAL ECONOMIC HARD TIMES.

  12. What if the kidnapping was staged or was planned? If it’s a motivated by ranson, the kidnappers should have already made contact.

  13. Thank you for the update…But still shows you the dangers in what is supposed to be…Paradise…Always practice “Sitrep”, or “Situational Awareness” when you are there….Peace

  14. I would think that people following this have seen reports today that have appeared on YouTube stating that the authorities have identified 2 of the kidnappers. I saw this on a Filipino newscast. They proclaimed with seeming certainty (the authorities that is), that based on the identification of 2 of the perpetrators, that this was NOT a kidnapping for ransom and NOT an act of terrorism by the extremist Islamic groups that have operated in the area. So it looks more like we need Lieutenant Colombo to investigate and determine the motive, and find Mr. Eastman.

  16. I am quitting Davao and moving to sorsogon for a while. I am going to Portugal as soon as I can get myself my girlfriend and her kids visas.

  17. A Filipina Muslim can not marry a non-Muslim “still” they were married with the approval of her Muslim-father.
,,, we now know the strong status of her father in that area.
,,, no news/feelers for ransom about Elliot because they don’t want to be identified.
,,, they are afraid that Elliot’s father-in-law “Rido” to the kidnappers families.

  18. Do you speak Bisayan now as well Henery ?and understand or you use something to understand that ?news broadcast my wife just told me there is a 5 million reward on any one that knows where he is

  19. One guy had posted in the youtube channel comments previously(on somebody elses channel) that the body was from a warring clan shootout that took place on the water. It appears he was correct.

  20. All people had to do is wait a while for an official announcement but no they were falling over themselves to offer their expert opinion!
    You Tube at it’s finest!

  21. Come on, a “vlogger” in that part of the Philippines can only be CIA/FBI. Let’s be real, a lot of “tourists” are spies, including from other countries aside from USA. Add China, Russia, Taiwan & others since these hegemonies are prepping for another war for profit scheme.

  22. Anyone linked to the kidnapping of Elliott or the people that did it. If Please release him safely in good health.

  23. Thanks for responsibly reporting information, instead of breathlessly speculating and clickbaiting like many youtubers

  24. Wild that this is someone else. Elliot I hope you’re okay and can get back home soon.

  25. They are just trying to cover it up because of fear of bad publicity . I don’t buy it they all put filipinos first whether right or wrong .

  26. Hi Reekay, I hope Kristina didn’t cause you too much grief. Keep up the good work, I’m enjoying your channel.

  27. The video showed the body floating by the shoreline, there was no way you could see any distinguishing features on the corpse, it was floating face down and surrounded by some brown seaweed surrounding it. Saw it unedited on FB.
