  1. Yeah, this a really thorny problem to unravel. In my case I go by what I’ve learned in life.
The really bad things that some people do, I feel that it’s not too hard to decide that
these acts qualify as evil, if anything does. The really hard to decide on situations
are the ones that might not qualify as actual evil, but such actions do a lot of
damage in this world to other people. The most damage is done to other people
by these behaviors that most people would not classify as evil. This is the source
of most human suffering, I believe.

  2. Hello Henry.
The statements, you mentioned about Islam are unfair! There are 10 Commandments in the Holy Qur’an in Ch 6 verses 151-152-153.
One of the most clear characteristics of Islam is that it is more realistic and offers practical solutions when dealing with human issues!!
    Thank you!

  3. The book of Job is about a good man tested by Satan, misfortune and ungodly friends. To answer your overall question, Reekay, about why evil people seem to prosper, while good people seem to suffer, in this world: We need to see with spiritual eyes not bound in space or time. We all die in this physical world. Nothing remains of material, worldly things as everything is impermanent, as Buddhists say. The Bible teaches us to store up treasures in heaven, not on earth where rust, rot, moths and thieves break in to take things. Seeing without any time or space constraints shows us how God allows evil to prosper to its full extent even over generations or many lifetimes. However, in Eternity such evil is seen to be bound to Hell, even though it may continue longer than our physical lifetime. In Yeshua, in God’s Kingdom, which is Eternal Life within us, we can see beyond our physical lifetimes with spiritual eyes. This is the vision of prophets. Meanwhile, seeing and suffering apparent injustice in this world is the result of seeing with space-and-time-limited physical eyes. Manifestation of evil shows and teaches us humans things which we could never learn without such demon-strations. However, this is not to endorse doing evil acts for the purpose of teaching. Ignorance, not knowing, is perhaps the root cause of evil. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Lord forgive them for they know not what they do. Treasure in heaven is having fullness of knowledge of God, which infinitely exceeds all worldly riches.

  4. The topic isn’t discussed enough, I enjoyed the monologue and agreed far more than disagreed.

  5. When you don’t believe in the first truth, that God exists and created everything, then you are following evil and will choose evil over God’s word. It’s not good enough to think oneself as a good person. We need to ask God’s forgiveness for this and every other sin we commit. Only this and the belief in Jesus will save us in the end.

  6. Interesting topic, Henry. I guess those men who do the right thing and don’t, steal, rob, defraud or harm others will receive their reward in heaven and not on earth.

  7. need to balance ,yin is not good without some yang ,some say you don’t know white unless you can compare to black and everyone has a shadow side even mother terresa and the dali have a dark side -it’s always a choice -the good angel over your shoulder or the bad angel over the other ,the evil is in the choice -lust after money ,sex -sex is a thing that’s hard to control as it grabs us physically but money can buy sex -just see the way you think when ur horney -then you have sex and release the tension ur mind changes too ,but is sex evil ?i think not ,maybe even hard core christians have dirty thoughts that create beautiful children

  8. “They lie when they don’t need to lie.”

When the behaviour is pathological from a dark triad/psychopath, sociopath or narcissist it’s a real problem.

  9. While i do not agree with some tiny bits, but i found this valuable! I’m only 30 and I always look up to you as a father figure since Mactan! I really like how you break things down.
