Since 2012 I’ve been traveling through various islands of the Philippines as a full-time Expat and spent 1999 living in Vietnam.

Share with me my ongoing adventures of life in the Philippines. Hopefully you find my observations helpful in your own adventures.

  2. Marriage? I can’t even get a date lol. For some reason, the Pinays I ask in the real world after being here in the Philippines for almost a year are either not interested, married or separated. Maybe I’m picky, but I don’t mess with a married woman and separated means you are still married because you are. But I keep on going and doing and maybe one day I will be the lucky dog.

  3. Tell the truth my grandmother and mother never liked me get involved with Philippines at all they were dead against it east is east west is west my gm would always say racist eh!!

  4. Very good video and retrospection on your part. The biggest hurdle to myself in wanting to marry a Filipina or anyone there…Is the sheer abundance of very nice and caring and beautiful and loving so many of them are, and hence which to pick and invest with. You seem to find yourself second and third-guessing about this important matter. Being a Bachelor is great for stages in life but like in everything…Things change. Peace

  5. Ahh, second marriages…the folly of optimism over experience. Reminds me of that Reagan quote: “The six most dangerous words in the English language; This Time It Will Be Different.’

  6. It’s strange that he would dismiss you because of your age, when 18/19 y.o. was the average age couples use to get married. Now it’s shifted a whole decade to 28/29 y.o..

  7. I knew since I was 16, I would never get married never had children. At 60, single again, never married never had children. All cheating 304’s out there.

  8. I was a confirmed bachelor for almost 20 year and the thought of marriage never crossed my mind until I met my Filipina wife of 8 years now. That decision to get married was so easy that it scared me. I kept asking myself WTF was wrong with me. Why was I so willing to give up this wonderful bachelor life I had so enjoyed…
Over the years since, I understood why. I have been happier than I have ever been.

  9. One word of caution, if you register any kids you have so they can be considered a United States Citizen, you just have to know that now you have made them a life long U.S tax slave even if they work or run businesses in the Philippines or any other Country. Is that juice of being a life long tax slave worth the squeeze of those so-called benefits if the expat dies? It’s a big decision to make. Cheers.

  10. Great points discussed Henry! Just got back from Thailand yesterday abd had an enjoyable time the past 3 weeks!

  11. She’s 27… I’m not “providing for her.” I am jump starting her future. 🙂 But I get the idea.
