Share with me my ongoing adventures of life in the Philippines. Hopefully you find my observations helpful in your own adventures.

Exceptional advice for any Westerner hoping to enjoy time in SE Asia.
I’m happy you have such good luck in life, but the rest of us got snubbed in the ph.
You convinced me to vacation n retire elsewhere. Thx!
A behavioral system that keep the people unproductive. Grow lasy trees get poverty fruit.
What do I hate most about the Philippines? It’s the napkins! They are more like toilet paper than napkins. I now take my own when we eat out.
But then there’s the unacceptable BEING REJECTED emergency medical treatment at a top level Clinic when I had a Chronic Asthma attack and they didn’t tell us why..they rather watch a man in front of many patients take his last breaths and basically choke to death..AND NOT DO ANYTHING to try and save him.
Wife!! Wow, that”s a surprise, i’ve been following you for yearrrrrrs, always liked your insight. Congrats!!
Cheers! To Philippines’ “Weirdness”
I go with the flow nothing bothers me 🙂
Stay positive!
This is true of everything in life. And besides, the company of beautiful, articulate, and loving women? Well, that pretty much trumps everything now, doesn’t it? !!!
You are more likely to slip and fall stepping on a can in the dark, versus stepping on a paper cup.
Just great advice.
This message is so true. Things are done differently over there in all aspects, just about. You just have to accept it for what it is, because no outsider is going to change it. It just is what it is.
When it comes to restaurant bills, I wonder if the diners just make a rectangle shape in the air, with their fingers, to signal wanting the bill. Is that still done there?
I disagree with you.
You are adapting everything about Philippine. No matter it is good or bad.
You feel ok to see so many beggars and poverty communities. Do you feel upgraded or downgraded?
Yes. Feeling ok could be less stressful. Is it what you want?
If living with Russia, this type of people would support Putin’s invasion. Because it could make the life easier.
The issue is why put up with these things, what is the upside? The company of a younger women? Maybe for some it will be worth it, for most. I think not.
Magandag Gabi Po! Absolutely agree, that is why I only last 6 months in the philippines everytime I visit. After, 6 months I go Loko, loko, Bola Bola. Maraming Salamat for sharing your experiences. Mahal Ko Pilipinas.
Mabuhay
You’ve hit the nail on the head here, but the people who need this message can’t hear it. I know expats who’ve never adjusted in 50 years or more of living abroad.
Ph. is ’bout if you have a good girl. It’s all there is, not much more to it. Whu’d ya be here o-wise ?
I can emphasize with you saying go to a place with little or no expectations about the opposite sex
I visited Thailand just to experience the culture, the scenery and the way of life and had no interest in the girlie bar scene
One day I was passing Ramkangkaeng university and got talking to some students. One was studying linguistics and was asking me how her English was
Well one thing led to another and we’ve now been happily married for 33 years
If the right partner for you comes along you will know it and you don’t need to go hunting for it
Hi Reekay, I have a question I’ve not seen addressed before. As an expat how do you (or do you still have to pay taxes in the home country? I’m coming in Feb for an exploratory visit to see if Gemma and I will stay there or come here. Thanks sir and I really enjoy your videos more than the other channels
yup your right again my friend
You hit the nail right on the head..
I told resto staff I thought the food was free for today… AFTER being ignored when I tried to get the chit.. They were all on their FB..
But if you have reasonable expectations you will be disappointed..
Thinking is not high on the list of things to remember//..
Great practical content. Thank you!
Cool AI generated pics accompanying your newer vids – and good info…
Reekay, I still have a disagreement of you saying ” Angeles City girls are low hanging fruits” . I’m retired US Navy and hung around the street outside the base (Olongapo City, Subic Bay) where they’re all low hanging fruit to you. Remember that they are human just like we all are. The only different is 1 degree of separation between them all. Either date an old foreigner or work all day for 8 dollars a day.
Yep that guy was most likely not military where learning to adapt your expectations to the current situation or country. Reekay would have had a very good military career. This also explains why there are 300k retired military in the country. Heading back there for my 6 months rotation escaping the US Winter. Blessings.
I will be leaving Canada at the beginning of November and coming to the Philippines for the first time. It’s been interesting to watch yours and many others videos on the Philippines for the last few months. I fully expect to enjoy my time there as I am already relaxed and layed back type of person.
Really great comparison from your dance club days vs what you (we) experience there….
