Since 2012 I’ve been traveling through various islands of the Philippines as a full-time Expat and spent 1999 living in Vietnam.

Share with me my ongoing adventures of life in the Philippines. Hopefully you find my observations helpful in your own adventures.

  2. Thanks for the spreadsheet. Much clearer that way. I’ll definitely spend a lot more because of going to Manila with my family of four (and a cat), but knowing that’s what you think viable for your case, it helps at establishing a very much needed baseline in my head.

  3. It’s ironic to me that you made this video. The reason being I was contemplating what I would live off by myself and I allotted $50 a day which worked out to 73,050 Pesos per month. I was concerned if that would be enough. Yours is 81,700 for 2. I think I’ll be ok.

  4. I found that $1500 is more than enough for me even with a girlfriend so you are correct about the budget needed as long as you have some savings, thanks for sharing, great video ❤

  5. I really enjoyed this video. I would appreciate more financial content, even methods of how to invest, for fun ofcorse.

Talking about women all the time is boring and overated.

What i want is finances and investing for liveing abroad as an expat please.

  6. Thank you so much for posting your monthly expenses which provide me a good understanding of life there. Thanks again.

  7. Her “family support” fee seems to be a third of your monthly spending. If she’s “worth” it, it’s not that bad.

  8. Awesome job!! With who do you medical insure with if you don’t mind me asking?

  9. Good video. Maybe I’m a cheap Charly but me and my Philippina wife have been together for 7 years. $ 250 to almost $ 400 cash a month seems like a lot to me. But it would definitely keep the family happy and well taken care of.

At 350 pesos a day that’s only 150$ a month for a minimum wage worker. Google is telling me a Average income is now 40k pesos or $700 US a month.

My wifes family has multiple ladies in the USA and a few OFW so maybe they are doing better than most. And don’t ask for much. We do have a medical fund/savings for her grandfather for emergencies.

  10. Hi Reekay. My wife and I have a 2K budget. With a one year old son and another on the way we spend 1500 USD saving the remainder. Our rent is 15000 pesos in our temporary rental Al we slowly build on my wife’s land. We don’t drink alcohol and that in itself saves lots in my opinion. Great video

  11. I live on $1,300 – very easily – and my bills are the same as yours – except I only support her two kids with 2,000 pesos a month to grandma – instead of 15,000. I guess I have 10,000/month in incidentals.
