I had one guy trying to convince me that it wasn’t cheaper to live in the Philippines, because Starbucks costs the same. Only one data point to generalize with a broad brush. He also stated that the woman in the Philippines will also get 50% of the assets in a divorce, just like in the West. Never mind that divorce is exponentially harder to do in the Philippines and far fewer women there are inclined to divorce anyway. Sour grapes.
