  2. Just found your channel. The food at 2:50 looks so beautiful tasty. What country are you from and how much to travel there for a 2-week vacation.

    1. i am from the usa. as to a 2-week vacation, (airfare aside).. it depends on where you will be staying. boracay costs more than say bohol or dumaguete. but on average for 1-person you should budget a minimum of $65/day to cover lodging, food, taxis. and then whatever extra if you plan to bounce from island to island or do other tourist attractions.

living here long-term is cheaper, since you can negotiate a lower cost for lodging with a long-term lease. plus own a scooter to cut down your taxi costs locally. also, buying groceries as opposed to dining-out each day.

  3. That’s what vacations are all about, rolling with the punches and not getting stressed. Which you and Vi seem to be able to do…..

    1. We also went from Cebu City to Bantayan Island with our own motorcycle, early December through mid January 2021. Same time that @Reekay and Vi were there.

We stayed (in a hotel) with the locals in Bantayan proper, not in Santa Fe which is geared more to Tourists.

We drove all over the island, and were never, even once, stopped or checked.

Enforcers were either absent or very helpful, + friendly (even when we inadvertently vilolated traffic rules).

The only real checkpoint was getting off + on the ferry. Very minimal.

Bantayan Island had zero tourists since March 2020, so everyone was truly elated + very appreciative to have us.

Btw @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea, Bantayan offers fresh crab + scallop meat, without shells. Next trip we will want a place with a full kitchen! ❤️

    2. Btw you seem happy and content and that’s a good thing,a woman can make you happy or miserable, nothing in between so congratulation to you both

    3. Lol,,,more fun in the Philippines,at this point I don’t know where its worse to live the States or the PH,my home is in LA but most of my family are in Florida where freedom is still practiced thanks to the Governor there

    4. we ‘could have’ but chose not to. mainly because of the checkpoints we’d have to cross. being on a rented bike, i didn’t want any complications even though we had the registration with us. had we gotten some officer ‘in a mood’ and the bike taken for impound, it would complicate our vacation working that out. so we stayed in the southeast corner of the island.

  4. Fantastic views if the beach area and yummy crabs! hope you both stay safe and enjoy your mini vacation!

  5. We were pleasantly surprised during our stay on Bantayan in 2019. The beaches are on a par with anything else in the Philippines but with a different, laid back vibe. Just a couple steps into the streets beyond our resort and we felt quite at home with the locals and school children walking around.

I’m curious about the largest city/town there, Bantayan. We did not make it there. Next time we go we’ll do a little more exploring.

  6. Love that place! One of my favorite in PI so far and have been to the touristy places like Palawan and Boracay (LEAST FAVORITE as it was just packed with Chinese)

  7. There used to be a vegetarian place there too vegie burgers and good salads it was or is the first or second stall as you enter the court on the right

  8. Question, you mentioned rainy season….Minus the no entrance for tourists.
From when to when is a good time to visit?

  9. Hi Reekay, Well over here in Las Vegas that meal would cost you At least a $100. Vaccinations will start soon here and hopefully the Philippines will allow people that had been vaccinated to go there let’s hope.

  10. Looks like you guys are really enjoying yourselves and im happy for that. Im guessing that things wont start loosening up till September 21. Whats your thoughts bro?

  11. @Reekay Let me get this straight! You live in Paradise with a lovely lady and you need a vacation from all that stress??? Tuff Life 🙂 I can’t wait to have some Philippine Stress LOL

  12. How do you deal with Female nature and their ability to mirror you in the beginning until they evaluate your resources and eventually change on you

    1. two things… time and, being myself. i’ve found things work out on their own that way. patience and just being who you are.. no better and no worse.

  13. Fortunately here in Jomtien and most of Northern Thailand we’ve had hardly any rain and the humidity is very low, if you guys ever make it here most of the rain seems to fall around September & October! I loved Bantayan great weather around Jan to June or so and exploring on the bike the whole island

    1. Thanks for sharing, perhaps someday i’ll find myself biking around beaches of thailand. sounds like a great way to spend some afternoons. 🙂
