  2. Too many “that guys” over there imo. I am very selective in what xpats I will spend time with if at all. This type of guy has ruined some entire towns that used to be friendly towards xpats.

  5. A few decades ago, I was “that guy” in the Philippines.
    I didn’t think I was being rude, but I had “the attitude.”
    I didn’t realize it until I saw a woman’s reflection in the window, making fun of me behind my back.
    It humbled me.

  8. Don’t be an ass… Treat others with the respect you would like to be treated with. Be innocent like a child, but with the courage of a lion.. Open your ears first before opening your mouth… If you start a sentence with “Back in my country……” Stop and shut up..

  20. I’m just looking for peace in my life and not much more. I live below my income and now I’m trying to repair/upgrade my home so I can rent/sell it to live in the Philippines.
