Most people suck at giving advice. They tell you what they would do, not what you should do.
I think finding the right one is a process of elimination. It’s not luck or divine intervention. We all have different personalities, so we can’t have someone recommend a certain Filipina. Write down the attributes you seek and the personalities you distrust. Spend enough time (6 months) with a person until she exhibits her true nature. Build on your list as you meet different people until you find someone that you are satisfied with and live with them for a year. There are no guaranties in life and people change over time.

I met my wife online January 1, 2000, on an Asian dating site. She was one of 77 Filipinas who contacted me almost the instant I paid my subscription fee. There was something special about this one Filipina that made her stand out, we instantly connected emotionally. We chatted and video chatted daily for 2 years while covid raged. I applied for my SRRV while still in the US and was granted a 9a visa to complete the process in Manila in January of this year. My fiancée joined me 2 months later, we left Manila for her barangay in Northern Luzon, married in July and living happily. Long distance relationships can and do work. I had the opportunity to check out over 100 other women that messaged me on the dating site but only really hit it off with 1.
A friend told me “select, don’t settle.” Relations are a crap shoot: If it works fantastic – if not, move on. Enjoyed your vlog. All the best to you and your lady.
My advice is when u first jump off the plane keep yur hormones in check for a while as there’s no shortage of women. Understand the thinking, culture & priorities some to realize the way it’s always been for u isn’t the same here perhaps.
Glad your friend lived out the last 4 years of his life happy. Like a smart guy once told me, to pairfrazr All of us only have so much time, so make the most out of every day, don’t wait to start taking risk and live the best life one can.

I love the topic. I think this happens more frequently than we expect. A typical bachelor will have stories of regret. Whenever I experience this, I find myself reflecting and asking “what I would do different the next time”. But it’s never easy to pull the trigger at the next opportunity.
All that glitters isn’t gold. If you wanna find gold you gotta dig for it and work for it for you to appreciate it.
