What happens in your house matters more than what happens in the White House. Great video, Reekay. Expats should stay connected to their home country and maintain their citizenship.
Everything aside I don’t even know how he voted on camera for himself given the fact, and my more serious issue, is he’s convicted felon, 32 charges, twice impeached, and several federal, state and civil suits still pending. I jokingly wonder if he was a 6’5” black man with the same litigation history would he have gotten the same votes? From the same people?
Reekey Velez America ambassador from the Philippines you got my vote
Waiting for that Bull market that will allow me to move there in 2-3 years instead of 10
Trump won but neither Trump nor Harris were good candidates.
Very good commentary on the election and you showed excellent judgment in restraining yourself during the electoral process. I also have some libertarian tendencies.
I appreciate your comments about merit-based hiring practices and relating that to the presidency. Trump was not my first choice and yet Harris was made the nominee without a single vote cast for her in the Democratic primaries. That resulted in a completely unqualified candidate being forced upon the American people. There was no opportunity to even consider her qualifications. Comparing the two, he of course was much more qualified.
Along with considering qualifications, we also consider policies and stands on issues. I believe that almost half of our country was willing to lay aside qualifications for the sake of issues and policies. It also seems that a good number of people who voted for Trump were willing to lay aside his personality failures because of a preference of his policies on the issues.
I will be moving to the Philippines in about a month to the Dumaguete area and I do so with the calm assurance that America is getting themselves back on the right track
I just became a member and I want to know kf you do one on one, phone calls?
Amen Brother, well we have been through a lot in this country of the Americas, but we have succeeded. The best person won, and this is going to help me to get to the philippines, because He is going to stop taxing S.S. that is just one thing he will do, this will put more money in every person that is retires wallet. Thank you for what you do, you sound very grounded as an individual.
I have never understood why people would want to vote for someone because “they’re just like me”. I want someone who is better than me, not just like me, in charge. Otherwise, I may as well be the candidate standing for office.
Well said Reekay. That’s why I voted for the best qualified candidate for the job. Seems my vote wasn’t wasted. He won.
I’ve done better and better since I became non-political party affiliated almost a decade ago and fully appreciated that no politician is coming to save me, so I have to built a life that is as resilient again political winds as possible .
With This election result, just going to tweak a few things but still sail the charted course.
UAL. Yes, unfortunately. Hope they give that stuff up! This recent, brilliant DEI idea launched the “Aviate Academy” which, by its features made available publicly, boasts a commitment to at least 50% hiring of historically underrepresented groups. On a recent arrival at SFO, the landing was literally the hardest, most impactful I’ve every experienced (this after UAL as my lifetime airline). On exit from the jetway and into the terminal, I see a skinny young woman in a cockpit uniform running down the concourse as fast as she could go. Didn’t want to be around to greet passengers upon exit from the airplane would be my guess. It is now 10:55am on Nov 6 in the USA–thank God we now have a President-elect who understands the damage these kinds of policies bring about.
Thank you for your commentary.
Well said sir !
One problem is the 2 ” viable” choices are preselected for us by corrupt political machines.
Pure wisdom. #Reekay2028
You’re a great guy…. But understand… Politics (has been put there) to give you the illusion you have some control. YOU DON’T.
If only the voters had such common sense.
That was a mouthful.
And you covered quite a bit of what’s going on in the world not just in the philippines or the So-called. united states First of all. Money seems to be the driving force in the universe. No matter where you are on the planet and until we figure how to take money out of the equitation, nothing will ever change. It’s all about the halves and the have. Not. And as for someone chosen or hired. because of their Ethnicity. was put in place because Certain. people had a 400 year Head Start. And to level the Playingfield of opportunity this was implemented.
But you should be qualified for any job or opposition that you hold. I would personally not want someone that can drive a car. Fly me to the moon just because.
Great insight. Ty for this Sir Reekay.
Thanks for sharing your god thoughts. Listen to the end.
I’m just glad that there wasn’t massive cheating like 2020. this election looks a lot more fair aka they didn’t pause counting overnight and drag it on for days until they could dig up enough votes to install who they wanted.
As far as it goes with economics…part of the globalists 16 year plan was to have Obama push jobs out of the country and damage the US. then Hilary to finish off the US to bring in the Globalists “The great reset” if the US falls every country that isn’t a part of BRICS would fall as well.
I too am a Libertarian. our two party system is designed to divide and conquer.
Hopefully now all these people that have been committing crimes against humanity and treason in our government, fake news, and corporations to finally be arrested (there are 0ver 500k sealed indictments that could have 1000’s of names each on them)
I agree with wanted someone that knows what they are doing. Trump showed us that he knew what he was doing his first 4 years. Kamala had 4 years to do all these things she said she was going to do when if she became president…One question came to mind…she had 4 years to do anything for this country…why didn’t she?
I’m really curious to see what Trump, RFK jr, Musk, and Ron Paul (whoever else Trump picks for his cabinet) is going to do. I think this country will become stronger, Big pharma and big food will be stripped of their power to continually damage our health (think actual healthcare instead of profiting off keeping people sick), as well as shrinking our government and getting rid of unnecessary spending. Trump saying he will get rid of Income taxes (I believe this to be a soft disclosure of NESARA/GESARA.) It will be nice having a president that cares about the american people instead of some globalist agenda to destroy our country from the inside like we have seen.
Wise words as usual. Common sense should be taught in schools if it’s possible.
Trump will be a great President again!
If Harris won, get gold. It is the only way you are going to keep what you have.
NVM trump won 😀
Well said…it is so refreshing to hear the words of a logical thinker.
Your channel is one of my favorites.
Trump won so the future does look bright.
Dude, I’ve been an expat for 30 years, but I’m still a political wonk. I have not heard one single person who has said, we should elect Kamala because she’s a woman. Sure that would be a plus, like she is also Asian and Black. She’s also a former prosecutor, State Attorney General, and a U.S. Senator and a Vice President. With a great temperament and common sense. Versus a Silver Spoon, who blew the almost 1/2 a billion-dollar inheritance from his Daddy, was sued and lost for discriminatory housing practices. Bankrupted 3 Casinos. Was a reality show host and was found guilty of rape and 34 felonies. Oh, he was also the worst President in the history of the U.S.
But you are right there are things we expats can do to protect ourselves. You gave some good examples. I would just add, VOTE! All U.S. citizens, no matter where you are in the world have the right to vote. Yah it’s too late for this election, but you can save this info for the next one; Center for US Voters Abroad [email protected] Just email them, they can help you register if needed, then they will email you a ballot that you can print out fill out and sign, and send back in and you’re done. I took mine this year to the U.S. Embassy, they have a drop box. They send all the ballots via diplomatic pouch to D.C. where they are mailed to your state where ever you are registered.
Enjoy the new exchange rate. The dollar is up 1.58 since Trump has been declared the winner
This new govt is for itself, based on the past corruption, selfdealing, 6 bankruptcy, many failed business ……….. hope u get the opportunity to change govt in the next 4 yrs. Good Luck.
its over. Trump will win. We all win! Less tax, less gov, drill baby drill
About 10yrs ago I was very lucky to meet & talk with the great John Glenn & his wife Annie at the airport in Ft. Myers, FL. He was in town to make a speech in Naples regarding the lack of interest of younger generation to enter politics & try to become true productive leaders in society anymore. I never thought much of it at the time but it’s starting to make more sense now.
I’ve never cared much about who wins. But I do think the party in power the last few years, as Elon M says, has been trying to do things to tip the scales to forever be in their favour. Not a good thing for all of us expats.
If the wicked steal the election (again) I will be making plans to become an expat ASAP
Your a good man God bless you from Australia
Trump is good for the philippines keeping the country more safe
As a small business owner I voted trump…
Less Government.
Character matters.
Long story to see the picture. I am living in Cebu Philippines for about 80K per month for two of us. 80K is almost $1,500. My rent is 8K. My WiFi is 1K. My water is 300 pesos. My electric is most 2K (I do not have an air conditioner, about 13 pesos per kwh), but I pay 2K to park my car, I pay 2 pesos per km to drive my motorcycle and 15 pesos per km to drive my car. I budget 6K per week for food and that includes drinking water for two of us and about a third of that 6K budget gets to extended family. Not too long ago, I bought a whopper for 206 pesos. No soda and no fries. My wife passed away about eight years ago and I remarried here about five years back. I have been in Cebu a decade. Being 72, I do not do that much here. You need six months income for an emergency, say medical self insurance.
Ten weeks ago I got into a motorcycle accident that ripped my foot and required surgery to repair. I paid 125K for two days hospital stay and 2½ hours of surgery. I was probably over charged. I am told the same surgery without insurance would have cost me $40 to $50 thousand dollars in the US.
I think there is more freedom in the Philippines flying under the radar than living in the US with its automated government in place. The cost of freedom, and depending on what you want for freedom, is that cost to just comfortably live and that for me is roughly 45% of what that cost is in the US. The doctors here scare me. The bathrooms are clean. Lots of needy people here. A lot of management systems do not work well. Amazon delivers some products to the Philippines. The import fees will get your attention. The legal system is a façade. I am from Arizona. The humidity was a problem when I first got here ten years ago. I like the weather more now. But no one has robbed me or hurt me.
The election is over, now we will see if it gets certified. The election really was about trusting bureaucrats or not. I do not think that message got out. Covid taught me not to trust government. It is going to be pretty tough for government to regain their reputation. Hopefully the election will result in a steady dollar and dissipation of posturing for war. If the dollar holds strong and the Philippine only weakens 2% a year, then we can subtract 2% off of the inflation here in the Philippines. Those on social security can expect another reduction off of inflation in the social security colas.
So I am expecting retirement here to still work.
How can I hang in there if SS is dismantled? Humm…,What does every Philippino want and can afford that I can make?
I survived George Bush Obama Trump and then Biden I’ll survive whoever comes next
Great wisdom and insight. It is devastating how affirmative action and now DEI has the United States on many levels. Harris is the ultimate DEI hire. May we be unburdened from her in this election.
It’s interesting, If you had to choose a pilot with 15 years of experience who has crashed six or seven times previously, or a new pilot with myopia, which one would you choose?
… To be fair, bankruptcy is a useful and powerful financial tool, so understanding how it works could be seen as an asset.
Your airline analogy seems to be eerily pointing at United Airlines.
Nearly 1pm on the 6th Phil time… video is surfacing of vehicles with California plates showing up with full ‘ballot-bags’ in the dark after close in Wisconsin/Michigan ???
Trump went bankpupt 6 times
Politics are ugly and bring out the worst in us. Anyways… TRUMP 2024
