  2. I am a slot player but have a set of rules to play by. I would establish a set of rules for finding a filipina, otherwise the game has the advantage.

  3. Great information bro. You always give us good info to make an informed decision. Can i ask a question? Im wondering what is my best and least expensive option. Im coming to stay for 2 months. Is it better i pay the $40 usd and get my visa before i leave for the Philippines? Or is it better to just buy 1way ticket and a throw away, then extend my visa when i land at the airport?

  4. Maybe I am the 1/1000 but I found my girl last June online and still dating her. I have spent a total of 5 months in person and headed back there July 1 for another month. I have a software job so I can work remote. I found her on DIA, and yeah that site can be horrible but it worked really well for me.

  5. good information to think about. I’ll be coming to Cebu in February, and I have already set up Remitly, wise, 2 debit cards, and a credit card, as well as an emergency fund. I have listened to many vloggers who have stressed the importance of making sure you have access to your money. the last thing you need is running out of money and can’t get ahold of your money in the states. I’ll also be using T mobile for international connections and get a local sim card for the islands (dual sim card phone). coming with a budget in tow is also very important and you need to stay on it for at least 3 months to see if you need to adjust it. I plan on western amenities, so my budget might be a little high, but practical. Being single, I’m not looking for a partner, I’m looking for the comfortable living in the Philippines with the money I have. The US american dream has become more of a nightmare than a reality. the average person can no longer afford to buy that little house with the picket fence, own 2 pets, have a wife and 2 kids.

  6. Having a million subscribers on YouTube doesn’t necessarily equate to success. Often, purchased subscribers are inactive accounts, contributing nothing to viewer engagement. It’s also worth noting that YouTube now values watch hours, possibly requiring content creators to produce shorts to boost their metrics.

On a personal note, I recall a trip to Mexico with a friend. He was frustrated by the language barrier, as he expected English to be widely spoken. His irritation grew when he realized he hadn’t brought any local currency. He refused to exchange money despite passing a bank, convinced we were close enough to the border to not need pesos. Ultimately, he overpaid for a meal, shelling out 25 dollars for something that cost 15 pesos. This experience reminded me that when traveling, one should either embrace the local culture or carve out their own niche. However, some things remain constant, and facts are indifferent to our emotions.”

  7. Thanks Dr. Reekay…Advice to take to heart.Glad I won’t have money problems if I decide to live there…a Good pension and SSI makes me feel great..and one more thing…not going to do internet sites to meet that special one no problem in approaching women…I will take your 3 week advice before returning to the U.S before I make that decision to make the Philippines make future permanent address.

  8. I hate to say it men, but DONT be one of these guys who embarrass the rest of us. Even my recent visit in Bohol I crossed an American who was running his mouth and making us (american men) look bad with his big mouth (literally 5ft tall talking like he is a 6ft 5in boss man) even had the nerve to make a comment about me buying lunch for my fiancee and several of her family. Saying ohhh big man, buying lunch.” First off, you broke dumb ass I make over $200k a year and am close to retirement and can actually afford a little lunch for some sweet folks who really can’t afford lunch like that. Secondly, try to represent a little. These arrogant men who because they get treated with some respect there in the Philippines should also give that respect back to the people,or you’re just giving us a bad name. I actually felt it’s better to pretend i dont speak English on one occasion because i was embarrassed that the individual came up to me to buddy up with me after running his mouth.
I spoke spanish back to him pretending not to speak english and my gal looked at me puzzled and later i said..Sorry i dont speak English…and she burst out laughing knowing without me even having to explain to her why.

  9. Reekay, I appreciate your no-nonsense, common sense approach to moving to the Philippines. I’m blessed to have the resources you really need to live in the Philippines.

  10. There are many reasons for not moving to the Philippines, it depends on your tolerance level

  11. Reekay, if a guy was too young to claim SS and had no pension but a decent savings (access to 401k, IRA money + savings and investments) what are minimums you would recommend to move and live in Asia full time? Talking a bulk sum and wanting to date, travel and also check out Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia. Home base in Philippines. A guy coming today and don’t want to know yours or anybody else’s finances….. given today’s inflation. What is that lump sum you would feel at ease with for a guy in his 50’s?

  12. I hugnout w/ a dude in Thailand for a few days, his online job, he bought and resold tickets for concerts/events/etc online. Cool little gig he and some German ran. Lots of ways to make money online

  13. Great advice. I lived in Tagbilaran Bohol for about a year and married a filipina and brought her back to USA. It didn’t work out after she got her papers completed. Dont go and live there without an income and if you find a filipina…keep her in her country. If she is pretty she wont be able to enter a Walmart without being overwhelmed from others about her beauty and exotic look. A man that has a beautiful woman has the same problem that a farmer has growing fruit on the side of a road.
