  2. It is just beyond belief to imagine a human so ridiculously stupid. There will be more in the future is a guarantee.

  3. He’s made several errors, I hope to avoid! I’m headed to the Philippines in October or November. I Retire with full income replace between my Civil Service Pension & Coordinated Social Security. But, no Healthcare. So, work three more years until Medicare or Relax on the Condo’s Pool Deck a couple of months after Retirement. I have a $5k USD budget for Healthcare, so Pacific Cross & put the excess away for future needs.

  4. Great story. I hope others pay attention. Reminds us all to be on the alert for this. Please give an update. I hope he follows through and gets out.

  5. wow – I really hope the next time you hear from him he has followed your instructions quickly and is far away from this criminal. Please make a follow up video of how this turns out- I hope its a good ending.

  6. He is extremely lucky that she was ignorant enough to leave the money in room. To get most of his money back after 2+ yrs, extremely lucky. If only he didn’t buy her the house. Well, at least he didn’t walk out broke and on the streets like I have seen a few expats.

  7. Sadly, There is no changing for either of them. At 71 plus he is set in his ways and will be a victim because of it. She will always be a taker and criminal.

  8. In her mind, she earned all that loot. Also, whether he directly confronts her or not, she’ll know that he knows. As a prate, anyone with my treasure map’s gotta go.

  9. Wow that give me chills yeah he was close to death because they will kill you over there for that and a lot less than that wow just wow and it’s a good thing you was there to help him out cuz he probably would be dead on the kitchen floor I hope people take note to this it’s not all Wine and Roses over there,, and thanks for sharing.

  10. Man! I sure hope he took your advice. Luckily, for me, I’ve heard so many stories about long distance Filipina scammers that I don’t plan to even start looking until I am there and settled. Please update us on this guy’s plight if you can.

  11. The fact he had concern for his extra luggage while he had an emergent need to flee: geez, man—I understand lacking self-preservation instinct. Low self confidence, depression, “call of the void,” ok: the dude has a deficit in self-preservation instinct: alright. But ALLOWING a bad actor be SO egregiously bad and just get away with it ?!?! Dude’s gonna allow her to do that to her church ?!?! Wow. 71 years old ? He has age-related mental decline, I think. He should check into an elder-care facility when he gets back to the States. He cannot safely or logically make his own decisions.

  12. He should really get out of the country and stay out. Head to Thailand. She could and probably will bring bogus charges against him and get him thrown in jail if he doesn’t leave the country.

  13. Your final advice to him. ” Tell no one where you are going!” The odds of him following through on that are Zero. He should convert the cash To USD and get the fuck out of the country. She will go to the police and file theft charges against him. Run Forest Run!!!

  14. The Philippines is overrunned by desperate simps like this Jim
who are ruining women for the next guys.

Freedom is good for some BUT costly for the rest of us!!

  15. you dont own stuff. Stuff owns YOU, Stuff does not have to insure, lubricate, paint, lock up or worry about you.

  16. Wow what a story…thank you for sharing because it helps expats going to the Philippines to be aware of this type of woman. Her reaction to seeing that money gone would be priceless. I would love to know how much she had stashed. So thankful he got some of it back and followed your great advice Reekay.

  17. Education is garnered over time.
So should human rights, their choices and the capability to vote.
As long as it impacts others!!!

  18. You should write a book. Very wise advise. I hope one day meet you there when a I move to Philippines.

  19. Filipinos never ever used the word expat before always referred to us as foreigners !! Its not a filipino term ! So this word expat was never mentioned by filipinos ever . Especially in 80s 90s always foreigner!! No big deal anyway lol

  20. Good advice Reekay. But I’m sad to say, can’t fix stupid. He needs to get out of country ASAP and get divorced as quickly as possible. Maybe Las Vegas? You can marry quickly there, not so sure about divorce. If he returns, he will probably be killed.

  21. You are so right, as being a ex-pat, or going to be one, is something not for the unwary and unfamiliar and those that live in a “fantasy world” of bliss in the islands. There are some women that are less than girlfriend or wife material, and should be shunned…No matter how desperate you think you are. One must definitely be rooted in reality over there. Peace

  22. Solid advice and reminder that all is not as it can appear online.. especially after the C 19 thing..I will occasionally get message requests from gorgeous looking Filipinas that immediately begin to send naked pics then begging for money..grandma’s gonna die unless she has emergency surgery or something like that.. I’ve been burned a few times by expert scam artists and your presentation here is a sobering reminder to not come across as desperate because like u said the woman with unethical tendency will see dollar signs …by the way your channel is what opened my eyes to the Philippines as being a decent place to live as a minimalist.

  23. I only wish I could see her face when she discovered the missing money…. Thanks Reekay….

  24. I would have taken my money back and would have been gone that very moment. WTF is wrong with people!?!?!? It’s bad enough to get in that situation, but to be fingering your bunghole with indecision and stupidity like he did. These aren’t accidents, these are personalities that have developed over a lifetime.

Sadly, my experience with people like this is that some of it is stupidity, but most [in my experience] are just naive as a result of being raised in a good home, and amongst good people. When you’ve trusted everyone in your immediate life, and almost everyone in your immediate life has been worthy of that trust- Sadly you’re set to get screwed a lot in life because you don’t have that awareness/ filter /sheild. That’s really tragic – being raised in a good environment shouldn’t leave you a mark for the rest of your life to unscrupulous individuals. Yet, I’ve seen it happen so many times.

  25. active in the church means nothing in the Philippines. I knew a policeman dealing drugs, who participated in an anti-drug campaign carrying a large banner. with written say no to drugs

  26. I met my wife online at matchmaker for Christians. She was 37 and I was 49. We married a little over a year later. We are about to celebrate our 21st Anniversary. Only bad part is she sends lots of money to the Philippines. She’s a Nurse so I guess she sends her own money. To do it again, meet a woman there with very little family if any.

  27. I would have advised him to get out of town and contact her church regarding her embezzlement. I’m guessing that is a criminal offense in P.I. And would land her in jail where she would no longer be a threat, or able to pursue him.

  28. Online “dating” is a wasteland, with 90%+ scammers and gold diggers the world over.
