Flaunting or spoiling is not what seniors should be doing.
I’m not sure about dating a Philippina, they all seem to have 8 fingers and toes on each hand in these photos.
You have touched on one of my biggest fears that with all my research all my digging in all my talking to my financial analyst that somewhere along the way I missed something because here’s my plan. I plan on coming over there with about $193000 to live on for two years, and then draw Social Security now some of that money is invested. Some of it is cash about 30,000 in cash in the budget. I have set for myself is 1933 a month and that just so happens to be what my Social Security will be when I start drawing it.
I am suprised that that many ‘grown’ people make mistakes like that. But I don’t get out much. And I may be too cautious in the first place, not great either.
Using the Ding App, you can put load on her phone and not give her the $. There are also a other app’s that do this.
Don’t hang around other expats and get caught up in “Peacocking”…
And to add, Guys to send money to the girl prior to arriving in the Philippines for a place to stay and to get food when he arrives in the Philippines at the airport no one’s there for him.
Enjoy and appreciate your vids. I’ve learned a lot. Thank you very much.
I subscribed. I like, comment blah blah. I support.
I’m there to live in BGC, to start, in a few days for a looooong time. My budget is comfortable.
Here’s my question:
I don’t understand. Why are soooo many young beautiful Filipinas single?
Please let me know!
Thanks!
Chasing young women.
Unexpected health issues can get you. A couple back to back trips to the hospital cost me a lot upfront but luckily my insurance covered about 60% of it. But it still hurt the pocketbook.
Be realistic, if don’t have a way of making money ahead of time don’t move there. Also if your an older guy like me you don’t need a wife or a live in girl friend hire a maid and take her out to dinner a couple times a month.
Be careful of Filipinas who only want to date foreigners. Chances are it isn’t because she loves blue eyes. Almost all Filipina know that it is the foreigner who has money. Pinoys have it easier. They know it is love because it certainly isn’t money.
Strange woke agenda in the pictures. Did half of Africa move to the Philippines…
Always good information but for sure too late for most guys. Guys think with the heart not with the brain. Me, I started my PH adventure in 1999 and I did everything wrong! But I am the one case in a 100 where it all worked out, thanks to stupid dumb luck. Married 25 years, retired in PH with reasonable financial security. Things worked out, but could have gone very wrong.
Even if she is not stealing , she wants expats for financial security . A good expats leaves her security and a home even if he’s dying…She will be better off then with a Philippino average man
For all guys who don’t have the money to live in southeastren Asia, just make your holiday every year, waste $4K in two weeks like a king. In ten years you will spend 40K. If you move there with $40K you will bankrupt in less than 3 years.
While I was there I saw a few too many guys who were partying and sitting around a lot. Recipe for losing your money, plus all the other normal stuff. Beware is what I felt, being there. And anyone who wants to not save, then try to wing it, bad idea
I have savings and am tempted to go live in PH after having a 2 month discovery trip. But im being smart and looking for a remote job so I can have an income stream once i move there. Going there on savings alone and no income stream is stupid. But i do admit the temptation is there.
This was really concise video. Probably should be recommended viewing before you step off the plane.
The guys are thinking with the wrong head.
A street beggar asked if I could spare him a hundred dollars. It wasn’t a shakedown situation at all. The way he asked made me laugh, so I said “No, but i’ll gladly give you $2 for the joke”. No scam. no foul.
This is just some scratch math, but if you just had 300k in an index fund and got a market rate of return at 10% (which is average), and drew 5%, you’d have $15k annually and still have your money grow. Maybe $3k to taxes.
My personal rule of thumb is a minimum stream of income that a local family of four can live a western-esque middle class lifestyle. Even my retirement income streams are not 100% dependable. What if one of them goes belly-up for political reasons, or economic shortfalls in future funding?
My expected streams are more than enough to continue living in the U.S. However, I’m looking at other countries for savings, in order to grow the pot of available funds to mitigate that risk. If I can mirror my life to a moderate degree with a bit of give and take based on local options, in a safe and peaceful place, and still access healthcare, I can live anywhere.
Some would say that’s overly cautious, saving money I could use to ball-out, but it accomplishes two things. It frees my mind from worry, and leaves a legacy my children can build off of when I’m gone.
I saw a video about a guy who got married in I think PI. Disaster, went back to the US for divorce.
Came back to the PI, got married. Disaster.
Last I heard he was talking about going back to the US for a divorce.
Some people are just STUPID. I always wondered how many times he rinsed and repeated.
Seems like “critical-thinking-skills” are in short supply for many expats who just hope for the best and take the plunge to move overseas.
When I was young I spent all my money on beer and women, the rest of it I wasted.
I live overseas. I’m 63, and my wife is 30. Lucky for me, my wife is a minimalist. She counts every dollar. Every night at 7pm my wife comes to me with how much we’ve spent today. Her family has never asked for a dime,
If you’re living overseas and going to go broke, it’s absolutely 100% certain there’s going to be a woman involved.
I’ve been living overseas for 4yrs now and if you don’t have an income, you’re screwed.
Such wise advice for anyone dating in SE Asia. It’s hard for a lonely, older guy to know his value. Have to take time to be comfortable with yourself, though easier said than done.
Simple: Girls,their families, and expats……
Always spread your eggs out so you have Multiple ways of income so you Don’t depend on just one or two sources. Then NEVER tell anyone what you have except for one friend or relative from your home country or “best friend” and sometime that can be an Attorney who keeps your important papers and has your backup info. Always protect yourself as Time and Money are Finite. And Final thing is Always have a Backup Plan B and maybe a C and D so you can bounce back as you Must protect yourself. Best Plan is to have the Same Income you would have to live in the states otherwise you should NOT come.
Financial planning, at the basic “home economics” level that should be taught in school is missing. All of this to me boils down to an inability to manage money.
Moving to a cheaper country just means it will take longer to go broke again. Some of these guys may do better in Japan where its normal for the wife to manage the household finances and savings.
When I was on the outside looking in, I thought all expats were above average guys who had the ability to plan ahead, budget well, take calculated risks and make smart moves. After becoming an expat, I was shocked to see how many train wrecks there are here. Yes, they are in the minority … most guys I know have their acts together … but it was still eye-opening.
All women are out for themselves, I do not care what country they are in… Do not trust anyone, until you have known them over a year.

” There is no job for expats here “, so true it’s music to the ears but some just don’t get it. To my surprise I’ve even met expat couples who I thought were fairly well off get caught up in “double yur $ scams” only to end up disappointed. The other obvious vices usually happen no matter what part of the world you live in & moving won’t change anything if u try to reinvent yourself.
I knew a 28yo expat who spent 50k USD in 9 months in SEA out of his total 76k. His main goal was to workout and find a remote job, and a wife, but he got distracted. One time in Thailand , he blew 6k in one month with the use of bargirls and kept chasing that high that never came back. He’s on the verge of going broke, but he quit his job back home, sold his car, no backup plan. What a train wreck.
9 months in, no working out, no wife, and still no remote job either.
He spent 2/3 of his whole life savings in less than a year chasing a dream and being unprepared for all the minor costs that would add up living in SEA.
I honestly wish he would pack it up and go home but people are hard headed and have to learn the hard way. Oh well, guess he lived it up, being played by bargirls. But very irresponsible ,self sabotaging, and self destructive behavior to take a year sabbatical with no plans.
Thank you for today’s content. I subscribe your channel and 4 other Philippina vlogger. You are the one who tops the list in good information giving. There is a saying you can’t fix stupid and if a man or woman thinks they can live off a low set amount in another country without a occurring amount of money to replenish their funds they are not thinking right.
Good video
Doing that myself. Saving as much as possible
Best way to think about it is if you don’t have the money to live in the west, you probably can’t live in the Philippines That is harsh, but better to plan on the harsh than on pipe dreams..
It’s Called self inflicted sabotage disqusized as stupidity.
I love listening to you, and your videos are awesome, but do you have one telling about churches in, say, dumaguete or the cebu area? I’m planning on coming to the Philippines in the near future, and I would love to hear about local churches. No specific denomination.
