Great advice Reekay. Met my asawa on line. Married now for 14 years. Assumed all Filipinas were wonderful but after 5 years as a permanent resident have seen the deadly dragon ladies too. They and their male cohorts exist the world over but here they are especially shrewd. Don’t drink until you know her very well.
True story ,I told my partner not to go to anyones house , he went cause he thought was going to meet this ladies niece , got forsed into a card game lost $110.00 but could have lost his life , he got away at a mall as they wanted him to buy cell phones and get money out of ATM so he could match the bet ! Lucky !

I’ve been retired here in the philippines for 17 years now. Follow the rules. Don’t get romantically involved with a bar girl. Not from dating sites nor one that starts a conversation on the street, walk away. If your dating around take them to hotels never your place they will always leave something behind they have to come back for. Friends reommendation or a referenced girl. Sales girls at SM are good. Ive known guys murdered, kidnapped, poisoned, scammed, conned into card games by not following the rules. If you meet a girl online and come here to meet here and she says her cousin with a van will pick you up your screwed. Follow the rules.
Great to see this warning video again; so true! If there actually was an abundance of high quality, it would be easy to find a lady on birth control without offering green cards, babies or money for family. We are great at rationalizing love where it doesn’t exist. It’s sad all the hoops we go through searching for an illusion. Peace.
Rule #1 Don’t underestimate a Filipina no matter how petite and cute she is. Chances are she is a skilled predator with more street smarts than most of us.

I am definitely an easy mark, very trusting of most anybody and I am at least a foot taller than the average Filipino, I stick out like a sore thumb. Add to that a graying tight trimmed beard and I might as well be wearing a spinning beacon on my head with loud speakers announcing, “Easy pickins here, free for the taking”. I did get scammed by a couple of cabbies so far, but nothing serious.

Good points !! When yur out & about yur ALWAYS noticed a mile away . At small mall food court once young guy started acting all friendly/smoozy w/me as I’m sitting there. Before long he hinted at $$ & soon I walked over to guard just to chat & this joker did a beeline out of there. I walked over bridge in remote area & 2 different graffiti signs on rail ” 12 y/o girl ” w/phone# listed. It’s all a scam/ setup. Always walk w/confidence like u know what yur doing & where yur going even if yur clueless.
Thank you for your advice… I will always now remember I am a target… Actually that’s the way I learned how to drive.. I made believe I had a giant bullseye on my car and everyone was aiming for me….

Damn this really scared alot of western foreigners. Also when you are trying to date these girls make sure they show you the certificate which prove they are not married otherwise the ex might come and blackmail you for sleeping with his wife and ask you to pay some money or go to prison. You have to be very careful. I think the best way to get legit girls is meet with really nice Philliphino guys make friends with them they will bring alot of girls to you , you would not know what to do with them.
With all that talk about guys knocking you out and taking your credit card and all that, you were pretty brave to live out in the jungle without some dogs and half a dozen guns, lol. I know you can’t have guns there , but at least all your neighbors were good and honest :).
From my experiences over many years,the worst scammers tend to operate mostly around Angeles City..Every single expat friend of mine living there has had at least one involvement with trouble for money..some told me they have had to surrender their wallet..luckily they carried 2 wallets an empty one and the legit one..and surrender the empty one of course.

The girls I have met online are very subtle and extremely shrewd.
After just a few conversations they start saying they love me and can’t live without me but they have no money for food, cell load, rent etc.
It’s kind of sad….. desperation is definitely the theme
