    1. @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea 45 to 50k your talking about short rentals on Airbnb ??? surely

    2. Mr s zee… the ‘usual’ rent here is anywhere from 45,000php to 51,000php at this set of 7 condo towers, using Airbnb. (Solinea) But due to the circumstances, we were able to get a 6-month lease at 20,000php. (not including electric or internet) This is not usually the case so, expect to pay the 45k+ rate under normal circumstances.

I highly recommend our real estate agent, Ann Sarsona, here in Cebu City. You can contact her here.. https://www.facebook.com/maann.sarsona

    1. Yeah not that much of a savings over USA once you consider what your giving up and gaining.

    2. @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea Wow so 45k to 51k is the norm now for a decent place? It really is getting more expensive there it seems. That’s a U.S. price really except in Cali or NYC.

    3. Charles Moore… the ‘usual’ rent here is anywhere from 45,000php to 51,000php at this set of 7 condo towers, using Airbnb. 1. yes, however it is not a smart-tv (like our last rental). but with an HDMI cord the netflix on my laptop appears on the tv, which is HDMI-equipped. 🙂

  3. Thanks for sharing glad you have a safe place to be

  4. “Vi has two-thirds & I get the other third” (para.) LOL TYPICAL! Like the first time I travelled to The Philippines with my wife, wherein; she had 14 suitcases/bags – aside from shipping 21 boxes – and I had a knapsack!

    1. Buddy Lewis… the ‘usual’ rent here is anywhere from 45,000php to 51,000php at this set of 7 condo towers, using Airbnb. 5. Reekay whats up my man, been watching ya for years.. hope your staying healthy and Corona free my man…. and way best of wishes from Pittsburgh…

  6. that is so cool. the vent is above the microwave, not the stove. What a novel, but typical filipino idea.

    1. that was actually my idea. putting the microwave on the left makes for a cramped cooking space if the range was on the right. and the range is still under the vent enough that it’s effective. plus, we can move it easily to have more room for the cutting board.

much more feng shui this way. 🙂

  7. Not a bad place to be trapped. At least its cheaper than trying to survive in the states.

    1. My thoughts exactly. If I were to lose my job, then I’d rather be living in Asia than in the U.S. even with condo, house, and everything paid and no debt cause it’s just cheaper there.

    1. Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea
      Hi Reekay
45000P is about $883US under normal circumstances which seems exceedingly expensive! That pricing seems more inline with US pricing for studio type accommodations……is that the right price or a typo?
      Thank you for your time.

    2. The Next Chapter… this set of buildings is near Ayala mall. (my other condo rental was at it-park)

  8. Hi Reekay, thank you for all your updates, great information Reekay,l hope you and vi are keeping safe.

  9. Great job. Can you do a video on what the president said about shooting those that don’t follow stay at home? And if you actually hear of anyone being shot. Curious. Thanks

  10. Thank God for Cut-n-paste eh? I read down threw the comments so as not to join the herd in asking how much. People are so lazy…

    1. ha! same question, same answer. 🙂 i didn’t put the price in the video because two years from now i’m sure the price will change, and likely the video will still be seen.

    1. Ken Star… the ‘usual’ rent here is anywhere from 45,000php to 51,000php at this set of 7 condo towers, using Airbnb. 1. i could do it, i handle solitude very well. between dating in vietnam i spent days at a time on my own. but yes, it is great to have a companion as lovely as her at my side. 🙂

  11. 20,000 PHP is too much. Let alone the 45,000 PHP under ‘normal’ circumstances. Philippines seems like a scam when I lived there. Apartments are MUCH cheaper in Armenia and Georgia. Philippines too expensive because of OFW, foreign retirees and sex tourists or are Filipinos just greedy / conartists?

    1. I agree with you on the rip off property prices targeting expats@PH. I can rent a studio cheaper in Perth Australia. However I am not sure if it is right to compare a landlocked cold country like Armenia with Cebu. I can’t comment on the lovelife in Armenia either… One thing for sure: the overall infrastructure and facilities@PH is far behind most countries people consider for overseas retirement. IMO retirement@PH is an oversold story. However, lovelife@PH is a different story. You can tell this with the ratio of female/male expat reiress… It is 0 (zeerrroh) LOL

    2. OFW’s are not driving up condo prices. they aren’t even in the PH by definition. and when most return after completing their contract, they return to the province. not.. buy a condo.

even if you add up all expats, they are a very small part of the population here. not all expats even buy condos. most rent and often rent on a smaller island.

prices are what they are due to expectations from investors buying condos from china and south korea. many are sitting empty, most building are 60% vacant.

but blaming OFW’s and expats or greedy filipinos is just way too simplistic a view. any item is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. anybody that doesn’t want to pay the rent can go live elsewhere in the ph. not in a condo across the street from a major mall.

    1. David Roberts… the ‘usual’ rent here is anywhere from 45,000php to 51,000php at this set of 7 condo towers, using Airbnb. (Solinea) But due to the circumstances, we were able to get a 6-month lease at 20,000php. 12. How much in dollars? I
I’ve stayed at every hotel in that area at one time or another.

    1. @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea I’m sorry I should have communicated it different, I know that area well and I think I confusef you by my mentioning I had stayed in hotels in that area. That’s a grest price, considering it’s a terrific area, great looking condo. I’ll have to check out that area next time I’m through thanks for posting the contact agent.

    2. this isn’t a hotel, it’s a condo dev. 20k php is about $385usd.

  13. Hey Henry, .. Curt from out meeting at HCMC Buffalo Wild Wings.. I was coming to get a condo in the very same place you are, but a different tower. Bout my tickets Feb 15th, set to arrive Apr 2nd.. and obviously canceled. I WISH I would have gotten there a month ago.. I would rather be in “Your situation” than watching Netflix alone in San Diego Ca.
I’ll see you there in a few months when flights resume and Kano visitors are welcome again.
I’ll plan to buy you and your gf a great meal at Ayala.
Best wishes to you Reekay.. Curt in San Diego

    1. hey curt! 🙂 yes, absolutely.. let me know when you’re in town and once things open-up again we can meet up again. would be great to catch-up on the latest. for now, ‘stay-home, stay-safe’. 🙂

    1. @Reekay’s LifeBeyondTheSea thx, Have you run across more of your neighbors or is your floor still pretty deserted?

    2. Robert C. Fisher… the ‘usual’ rent here is anywhere from 45,000php to 51,000php at this set of 7 condo towers, using Airbnb. (Solinea) But due to the circumstances, we were able to get a 6-month lease at 20,000php. 14. Keekay, I was in that green building , that you could see from your window for 10 days, 2 yrs ago, it is clled The Avalon Condos.
You are in very nice area of Cebu, if lateron you can not find a place, I could get you in touch with people at Avalon Condos.
Be wise and stay safe always.
    Bye from Central Florida!

  15. Using the aircon 24/7 – I’m assuming utilities not included? Curious to know what your electric bill with be.

  16. How much is that apartment? Life here, in the USA, really hasn’t changed for us because we tend to naturally self isolate also. All of the stores, pharmacies, gas stations, etc. we use are still open. We do miss occasional trips for Vietnamese Pho Soup. Our home includes a few acres to keep us busy.

  17. Reekay, saw you on LivemyAssoff channel. You have an awesome channel my friend.
