After 49 years living in Southern California, USA, I decided to move to the Philippines despite never having been here before. I spent a year getting all the information I could online and in July, 2012, I took a leap of faith and transplanted myself first to Mactan and then began my trek through Cebu, Bohol, Panglao, Moalboal, Dumaguete, Bacong and now living in Cebu City, here in the amazing Philippines.

Starting in January of 2019, I will begin a slow trek through Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and possibly Malaysia, China and Japan. My itinerary is open with no big rush since I hope to share in detail what each place is like as I enjoy it for months at a time.

I am a single man taking an honest look at all that Southeast Asia has to offer, one day at a time. I hope you find my channel informative and/or entertaining. 🙂

I hope you will make use of the links I provide as they help to support some of the costs of making this channel possible. Thanks!

  1. like your viewpoints, but as far as i see it, i have to follow the less crazy nut here. trump is off his rockers! you should proud of your mexican heritage, even though you are like 3rd generation native born american! you have a very well balanced outlook in life. i was in the USA for 40 years & lived in miami, releigh nc, & houston. in a way i am happy being back in the philippines. i don’t feel like i have to look out for unknown gunman rampant in the USA! if there the one good thing about this covid-19 outbreak, a silver lining here there are no more mass shooting anymore! Thank God! then my heart also go out for all those people at the bus stops, that incessant talk to themselves, constantly. reality of life!

  2. I just hope they reinstate Visa on Arrival for US citizens. I miss my fiance and have not seen her since the first part Feb.

  3. I think quarantine is a great time for couples, it’s a time when you see wether you are meant to be together or not…

  4. Schwab has several types of accounts. What type is needed?
I listen to the saved Livestreams while I’m working so the times you and Gio do them doesn’t matter to me.

  5. I don’t believe the locals will blame the US and I doubt the government will. I follow many Filipinos on Instagrand and a few on FB and from what I can see they are furious about China, correctly so.

Thanx for another vlog from a wise man. Always a pleasure to listen to you 🙂

  6. I learn something about the Philippines every time I watch one of your videos. Thanks. Enjoying this vacation with my wife.

  7. I like cooking, and I like learning how to cook different things. Your curry meal looks delicious. I’ve been making homemade bread on these lock down days

  8. Just an update on my situation- just got out of the hospital after my kidney surgery and recovering slowly but in lots of pain. Great to see you again Henry!
