  2. After the 1st year of the Pandemic I gained 13 pounds (And I have always been overweight but not obese) Since than I’ve lost 21 pounds. I eat one meal a day around 12-1 pm and eat pineapple, pretzel rods (dipped in greek yogurt(No sugar) or garlic hummus and a low sugar granola bar at night but I don’t eat anything after 2-3 hours before bed and usually don’t ever exceed 1500 calories a day….Oh and I walk about 2 miles a day. This is the only diet that has ever worked for Me in all of My 61+ years

  3. Henry, great video on how you are maintaining and adjusting your diet. I have been a Diabetic Type 2 for about 25 years and as you may have heard from my previous responses, it has caused kidney failure, then dialysis, then a kidney transplant 2 years ago. I have maintained good levels in my blood and urine lab work every 2 months. I eat a very light breakfast (an apple or carrot muffin with a light Petit juice, or wheat toast with plant based butter or olive oil and the juice, or a bagel with cream cheese and the light j ui ice).

I skip lunch and eat a small bowl of lean meat with rice and dark green vegetables (twice a week), or a bowl of chicken soup, bean soup, pea soup and some lean turkey, chicken, or fish (three times a week), or something lean with vegetables and lean meat from a restaurant on the 6th or 7th day.
It’s worked for me so far as I AVOID anything with sugar or higher sodium content.

I believe that what AFFECTS most Americans is their love of PROCESSED FOODS, HIGHER SUGAR AND SALT CONTENT, AND OTHER JUNK FOODS.
This will CERTAINLY affect their glucose, their blood pressure levels, their heart condition, and their overall health! Stay safe and healthy Henry!

By the way, try ZERO GATORADE (Orange flavor) with no sugar!

  4. Healthy natural drink that’s way better than Gatorade – coconut water (straight from the coconut). To minimize the hit from the natural sugar content, when you drink a coconut, drink at least the same volume (or more) of water – this will give you the benefits from the healthy natural coconut water but counter the sugar effect.
BTW – I just started the 8/16 schedule.

  5. Big problem is when ordering salads in the PI. Found this out the hard way. Restaurants will wash salads with tap water and then serve it. You are eating a salad loaded with bacteria! Plus whenever I order a bottled water, I always say No glass No ice. They sometimes just wash glasses with cold tap water and the ice is usually from tap water. Again bacteria.
The thing that really grossed me out were the open markets. The chicken and fish just sitting on benches not on ice in hot weather with the vendor waving the wand shooing away the flies which were constantly landing on the chicken and fish. Just gross.

  6. I did keto and IF when I got back to Mexico a couple of months ago. I don’t have a scale but I figure I lost 15-20 pounds. I’m pretty sure I’ve reached homeostasis and feel like I can maintain it and still eat some tortillas. It helps that I walk everywhere.
As opposed to living in Bali, there’s not a lot of leafy greens here. Even vegetarian restaurants have chiefy starches.

  7. Fyi Keto is not a protein diet. Protein is low w keto. It is a fat based diet.

  8. cardio is very important yes but resistance training makes such a huge difference .. it basically stops/greatly slows the ‘feeblelization’ of the aging body ie your muscles and bones shrivel /shrink/weaken .. it’s hard work but it’s well worth it .. if you can’t motivate yourself for that well then simply do SOMETHING like walking briskly .. some pushups and situps etc .. guys were responsible for our own health .. nobody can do it for us .. good luck ! stay ‘young’ !

  9. I’m 63 years young , basically keto/carnivore and never been fitter and healthier! Low carbs , Low Sugar and occasional green Vegs or Spinach and stay away from Root Vegetables! Bread , Rice and Pasta completely inflame my body !

  10. I’m 58 years old and getting my ducks in a row to move to probably the Cebu city area in the Philippines…
I want to find and be active in a ( non catholic) Christian church and thinking maybe Cebu city area can give me that and Cebu will be a good place to hang my hat for maybe 6 months or so.
I’m open for any advice on that….

    But,
I enjoy everything you talk about..
    I’m so much like you..

    An over thinker of things…
Doing research and re doing it again to get a true and factual understanding before I jump in..
Seeking advice and asking more questions on it..

Then I feel I did all my factual research and then go for it and knowing everyone is different and willing to monitoring my results to whatever is best for me..

I’ve been doing apple cider vinegar capsules for over a year and I do feel better and all my doctors say that besides a highly graded multivitamin those study’s do show fantastic results adding apple cider vinegar capsules or adding the liquid form just before going to bed in like grape or cranberry juice..

One of the best quality a person can have is being totally genuine with who you are…
The mistakes and the successful in a journey..

I appreciate that with you my brother….

    Blessings
    Greg

  11. Reekay how many Channel Icons have you had over the 10 years of your channel? (icon being your caricature next to your channel name)

  12. I basically have only 2 meals a day too, and I try to stay away from the pasta and breads. My problem is that at night, I need to have my beers, and boy, it’s gonna be tough today – all alcohol sales are banned on Election Day here.

  13. You know that stuff you see them taking out of arteries when they do open heart surgery – that isn’t salad! Vegans and vegetarians don’t use viagra, cause they don’t need it. MEAT should be a TREAT. A meal with meal is one thing, but a meal of meat, that’s crazy, I love it, but it’s death on a plate.

  14. I loved to eat the roasted chicken there also… Baliwag, Chooks to Go, Andok’s, until I found they were loaded with sodium, which contributed to their great flavor, but a small serving is a complete daily allowance of sodium already.

  15. Great video Henry! Glad you are choosing the “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” lifestyle. When we understand Cause and effect principals related to our health, it shows us how important the choice really is.

  16. Also I have never been much on but need Protein in my meals or after I am done I’m with my meal I am already hungry !!! I Also have a pretty high metabolism so never really have any body fat !!!

  17. Electrolytes go to dollar stores if they have them or grocery store water aisle both have inexpensive Electrolytes water all single one dollar plastic bottles if available in the Philippines !!! Also check if they have Vitamin water !!!

  18. I do what I call common sense Keto with occasional fasting.
I’m convinced people over do the fat intake on keto. I eat less fatty meats with low glycemic vegetables (easy on the tomatoes, carrots, corn, squash etc.) One of my main delicious go to’s is cabbage based soups adding various other vegetables and lower fat meats. You can’t really make a bad batch of soup. Also I’m lucky I like all types of liver. Liver is loaded with almost all the vitamins and minerals. (new research proves it does not cause gout)

I used to get the “squirts” quite often for unknow reasons. Then I started making my own kefir. It instantly (not an exaggeration) corrected my stool. Not hard, not soft and sit down “drop the kids off at the pool” and done. The kefir grains eat up the sugar in the whole milk so it’s still a keto drink. The kefir you get in the grocery is not real kefir. It has been pasteurized and they add sugar for a sweet taste. Useless. Kefir is purported to have 3 time more probiotics than real homemade yogurt and all yogurt has sugar carbs especially store bought.

I am a believer that consistently lowering daily blood sugar can reverse all health issues. Why doctors don’t promote that I just don’t know.

  19. I’ve been doing carnivore diet with intermittent fasting (I only eat 4 hours a day a long with a 3 day fast every month. So far I have lost 25 pounds and stopped all my blood pressure and diabetic medications, I have never felt so good at almost 50. The hard truth is you are responsible for your own health, prescriptions should only be a temporary measure. That’s just my 2 cents, good luck on your journey

  20. Great video. I feel that it helped many guys out there . Thanks for sharing !

  21. Coconut water is good for electrolite replacement i believe…not sure of the sugar content but its natural of coarse

  22. Vietnamese food is my favorite, but it has a lot or RICE noodles! It’s high carbs man.

  23. I just recently took spring break vacation in the Maldives. Eating their food I felt myself losing weight immediately.

The same thing applies when I visited the Philippines and Tyland. Perhaps it’s a combination of walking more, swimming regularly and simply “eating their food“ which is for the most part fresh, unprocessed and has no preservatives or very few preservatives. You can basically see the difference in the way you defecate.

Their food basically runs right through you. I Experience the same thing in China and the same thing in South Korea.

Personally: I don’t really like Filipino food as much as I like Thai food or even PRC food. When I’m in the Philippines I tend to stick to white rice with meat. I’m not a fan of how they prepare their vegetables. They are regular salad and regular spinach is OK but I don’t like moist and wet vegetables.

When I first got to Philippines I liked their sisig, but over time I started to fall away from pork and went back to chicken and basic beef.
